Why does Obama make liberals rage so hard?

Exhibit A: Take this liberal, who is on the moderate scale in terms of Obama love.

    http://www.regressiveantidote.net/Ar...Expecting.html

And what of Obama himself? There are many laudatory words that come to mind when thinking about this supernova who has burst over the American landscape. Smart, articulate, inspiring, eloquent, balanced, grounded and thoughtful are just some of them. But what think most people have not yet fully appreciated is quite how wise he is. Wisdom is a bit like being smart, but definitely not the same. Both Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter were the smartest guys around. Both had mediocre presidencies, at best. Wisdom is perhaps best understood as applied smarts. In any case, it surely involves having a keen understanding of what works, what motivates people, what the public wants, and how to make decisions effectively. Look at Obama. He’s been doing some enormously difficult things for two years now, under the most powerful competition and scrutiny there is. And, not only has he succeeded in ways that nobody imagined he could, he has made nary a significant mistake. That’s a record unmatched in our time.

Yep, when it comes to political wisdom, this guy turns it up to eleven. That’s why I think he’s going to have a very successful presidency, and in doing so, he is going to cement in place a center-left, solid Democratic majority in Congress and out in the country. There will be mistakes, to be sure, and there will be ugly bummers far removed from the administration’s control exploding in their faces. But what I don’t think we’ll see is pitched battles among the top staff, as in Carter’s White House. I don’t think we’ll see a focus on trivial issues or personal immaturity, as in the Clinton White House. And I don’t think we’ll see the president trying to solve every problem all at once, as in both these precedents.

I don’t know Obama’s politics well enough to say for sure at this point, but I suspect he’s going to be too centrist for my taste (most any president who could be president in today’s America probably would). But, at the same time, I feel very confident in his competence and wisdom. That, coupled with all the other favorable conditions for him (which include many unfavorable ones for the country, chiefly Bush and his legacy) will probably make this the most successful presidency since Roosevelt. Maybe we’ll even amend the Constitution to give him a third term!
This professor of political science shows the obvious signs of obama syndrome, but let's see his opinions just a few months later:

Hey did you hear about the iconic African-American guy who plays golf, and whose relationship with the public is in a free-fall lately?

No, as a matter of fact – I’m not talking about Tiger Woods.

You know, I’ve really been trying not to write an article every other week about all the things I don’t like about Barack Obama.

But the little prick is making it very hard.

Like any good progressive, I’ve gone from admiration to hope to disappointment to anger when it comes to this president. Now I’m fast getting to rage.

How much rage? I find myself thinking that the thing I want most from the 2010 elections is for his party to get absolutely clobbered, even if that means a repeat of 1994. And that what I most want from 2012 is for him to be utterly humiliated, even if that means President Palin at the helm. That much rage.

Did this clown really say on national television that “I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of you know, fat cat bankers on Wall Street”?!?!
Really, Barack? So, like, my question is: Then why the hell did you help out a bunch of fat cat bankers on Wall Street?!?! Why the hell did you surround yourself with nothing but Robert Rubin proteges in all the key economic positions in your government? Why did you allow them to open a Washington branch of Goldman Sachs in the West Wing? Why have your policies been tailored to helping Wall Street bankers, rather than the other 300 million of us, who just happen to be suffering badly right now?

Are you freakin’ kidding me??? What’s up with the passive president routine, anyhow, Fool? You hold the most powerful position in the world. Or maybe Rahm forgot to mention that to you. Or maybe the fat cat bankers don’t actually let do that whole decision-making thing often enough that it would actually matter…

But, really, are you going to spend the next three interminable years perfecting your whiney victim persona? I don’t really think I could bear that. Hearing you complain about how rough it all is, when you have vastly more power than any of us to fix it? Please. Not that.

    There are 3 Obamas.

One is the magical brown wizard guy who will wisk us all into economic freedom, bipartisan union, and universal health care so good that even Lief will be like "damn now that's some good universal health care!"

Another Obama is the socialist Kenyan-born demon who wants abortions for all.

    And then there's actual Obama.

Clearly this douche fell in love with his mental image of Obama, and is now finally meeting the actual Obama - the politician with limited resources.

But yes, it's kinda hilarious to watch.

I think archi is pretty much right. It's the only thing that can explain this sort of transformation:

There are times when I go "Oh, well this guy is a political science professor, he probably knows what he's talking about." Then I read the bit about Clinton and I thought Clinton was way more good than bad. People just want to harp on his extramarital affairs like it means shit.

He is a liberal university professor, i really don't think his affair with Monica is part of his criteria.

especially considering the dog-face he's married to. You're married to a woman that probably has a bigger penis than you, you'd want to stick your dick in other things too.

Clinton was the best Republican president of the last half the 20th century arguably all of it.

This professor isn't a liberal, conservative, or even a moderate. He's one of those LaRouche-loving douchebags - you know the ones who were running around with posters of Obama with a Hitler moustache? The guy's a fucking delusional Trotskyite idiot in the vein of David Horowitz.

I think anyone is hard pressed to argue he's not a liberal. From reading his complaints, it's pretty much a given that he's a liberal. And as you can see, he was very much in the same loveboat that many liberals seemed to have been with Obama.

That's because Trotskyites like this guy were expecting Obama to be like FDR or his contemporary, Lyndon LaRouche. He even admits as much in the first article. He, like most non-Democrat revolutionary leftists who voted for Obama, was expecting an instant Marxist revolution the moment he took office or at the very least an immediate authoritarian reversal of everything Bush. And now he's disappointed because not only is Obama turning out to be VERY moderate, but that extreme pragmatism that Obama uses to make his decisions is influenced by Rahm Emmanuel's machinations. It also doesn't help that the Republicans just flat out refuse to do their jobs.

It's VERY obvious to me that this guy is NOT a mainstream liberal/progressive Democrat, but that's probably because I've been exposed to them A LOT during all the activism/protesting I get involved in.
