Personally, I miss them, but having previously done them for the LS I'm in, they're an annoying amount of work. And it's main purpose (loot promotion to drive applications), is something BG needs the least of all LSes.

If you guys just wanted to brag about the loot you get, and maybe pump gags out, I'd consider a running twitter feed (or a web app equivalent.)

That's why I said "or an equivalent web app". Some kind of ticker with a history that displays on a web page. With or without any screenshots they want to post.

The least work involved way to post up loot drops and who gets them, is as they happen. Especially if you track drops for a loot distribution system anyway. The laziest way to do that that I'm aware of off hand, is by using twitter. Using something else, would involve hunting it down (or coding it), and implementing it. Twitter isn't the best, or even good, but it is the most cheapass way to to do it.

The only other thing BG newsposts do, is make fun of themselves, the FFXI community, & S-E. I don't really have a decent solution for that.
