I call BS. Blizzard does an admirable job of balancing the classes. They are the best in the industry. Compared to every other MMO and their massive imbalances, Blizzard has the WoW classes in perfect harmony. Can they do better? Of course they can, and they have and they will.

People like you seem to think there is just so lever they can switch and make everything balanced and they are actually choosing not to do so. It's so simple minded it makes me want to punch things. I doubt you can even fathom the level of complication it takes to balance the classes and how much work they put in to make them even and balanced.

Oh, and don't just list a bunch of problems to prove your point, because it doesn't. Every change effects almost everything else in the game, "nerfing" or "buffing" makes everyone else in the game from every class and every spec different. Small changes have large effects, and it is really amazing how well things are currently balanced considering the difficultly involved.

Well, to be honest, I feel extremely overpowered atm as a rogue (even without 2t10), but seeing as how I can't do anything other than slice shit up, I guess it's justified? I kind of wish they would just erase Subtlety tree and put something, you know... useful, there, though.

oculus is probably my favorite instance from wotlk. at first I hated it but once I understood how things work, it's easy as shit.

what issue do people have specifically with it? the dragon part really isn't hard.... red dragon blows everything up. amber time stops during enrage and green keeps poison/heals up.

people seem to die more on the 2nd boss because they don't freaking move out of the lightning, lulz.

I'm the one crying now? Oh wait you said the average person couldn't cut it not just that single player.

Got occulus earlier tonight through the random dungeon and people still left. Fail, no one wanted to do it either.

You haven't pvp'd much yet have you?

They need to outright create a lever that changes things in pvp, plain and simple. The balance in both can never be achieved without just downright different functions.

Resilience was introduced as a band-aid purely to differentiate pvp gear from pve gear, it's since become a duct tape and bubble gum lever, but it's not good enough.

Personally I think they should steal dekaron/2moons idea, just give an entirely different health pool that's only active in pvp, and make it so once they get that down, they burn through your normal hp near instantly. Bam, massive freedom in dps/hps capability literally adjustable by a knob.

Also, guildie got drake from bag last night doing daily.

Don't get me wrong, there is a difference between saying there is imbalance in the classes, which there are, and saying that Blizzard can fix them but won't do it because they hate us.

I have a couple of thoughts on the whole thing. The first issue is that Blizzard does not want two games. Meaning they want a unified PvP vs. PvE experience. The problem is that the more you balance for PvP the less differentiation there is during the PvE experience, and as the correlative, the more unique differences between the classes and specs, the harder it is to balance for PvP.

Some may complain about Blizzards vision when it comes to the unified experience, but I think that Blizzard would tell you to go make your own game if you have a problem with a fundamental design feature of their game. So that's basically a non-starter.

The problem for the complainers is that there is a huge amount of empirical evidence that Blizzard does care about the issue and is trying very hard to balance things. They have progressed greatly in making more and more classes and specs at least somewhat viable, and have stated that their goal is to make all classes and specs viable for both PvP and PvE. I do not think most people even fathom the level of difficulty this entails, and the amount of work that Blizzard has done to try to get it to work.

I think you prove my point when you say, in responding to my comment that there are now levers they can just switch on, that there should be levers they can throw. And I think I should have a Lamborghini. Too often players just think that because there is an issue that effects them that it should be the sole focus of Blizzard until it is "fixed". Add to that the issue of many players thinking "fixed" actually means that their classes or spec is so dominant that no one could ever kill them.

So, in conclusion, PvP is not perfectly balanced, it will never be perfectly balanced but it will get gradually better, and the PvP and PvE experience in WoW is far more balanced that any other MMO that I know of.

The perfect should never be the enemy of the good.

Personally, I'm stuck in a Hall of stone --> Stratholme loop since forever. I'm doing around 3-4 random instances every days, and got these 2 every fucking time. I'm just happy to never get Nexus...adding it to HoS/Strat would be the killing blow.
I've done the instances I listed at least 100+ times each since 3.3 patch day now, I see those instances in my dreams/nightmares...

    Even more Oculus nerfs.

The Oculus had some additional changes made. The Planar Anomlies during the Eregos encounter will have a shorter duration and do reduced damage, some of the drakes above Varos’s platform have been removed, and the drakes controlled by players will move a little faster.

I can't explain top end pvp to people that haven't experienced it, so I'll just ask you to trust me when I tell you that a unified pve and pvp experience is unobtainable.

But beyond that, blizz doesn't want that. They want people to participate in both, but they want them to be separate things. That's why resilience was created, to differentiate the 2. Unfortunately it's "ok" at best in that regard, and being used as a makeshift balance lever. Mana burn op? Put it on resil! Dots op? Put em on resil! Everything op? Put it all on resil!

But yeah, nobody's going to argue with you on the pve aspect. WoW pve is the most well balanced of any mmo I've ever touched, by miles. Even though rogues are temporarily op atm, I'll never hesitate to call them the best designed class in any mmo I've played. (although, hunters in cata could compete for that title).

PvP though, is borked. And for longtime pvpers, it's getting reeeeeeally tiring.

Solution: put them in raids where they become a fun time for organized groups and not a faceroll that makes you want to cause bodily harm to your party members because of the absurd level of retardation required to fail, which they manage and then some.

One serious problem is that folks have danced with the crit ceiling since H-ToC25 gear started dropping and it's only going to get worse with the next season. I predict the evening out of health totals and the reset of everyone's crit% will have a large smoothing effect on how quickly people are dying in Arena.

Beyond that it's making sure they don't re-introduce RNG stuns and do something about offensive dispel mechanics which turn 5v5s into huge purge + pop dances.

I don't expect 2v2 or 3v3 to ever really be balanced. It's just not possible and no amount of moaning is going to really fix it. I reckon at that point it's just a matter of further stratifying rewards to make the separate grinds up each ladder less onerous for non comp-of-the-month groups.

from mmo champ today. WoW has it's problems, but y'know blizzard really does listen and really does at least attempt to make things better for the playerbase. Perfect? No. But at least they fucking try.

I never had a problem doing Oculus with a good group. I see why Blizzard did what they did because people quit right when they saw this instance that was supposed to be epic and unique by letting us participate in the nexus war which is just another part of the plot going on with this expansion.

They need to stop listening to idiots...the phase shift part of Ley Guardian was 18seconds...and required no skill at all to avoid other then moving the fuck away, if you EVER got hit by one you were either afk, lagging horribly or dumb as shit. The game has devolved into almost no challenge being placed before the end user, and don't feed me a line of "Well do hardmodes", that's a crock of shit and a cop-out. No one wants to do a boss for 3months and faceroll it then be told "Well now you can finally go back and do that same boss AGAIN, but this time....he hits harder and puts fire on the ground and and there's a timer! HUR HUR isnt that a challenge?"

Well it is, but its a fucking boring challenge because its the same goddamn fight with an added gimmick which shows the lack of creativity. Give me back the hard 25mans and the fun but challenging 10mans, or the bosses that would wipe you over and over again and when you finally dropped them, made you feel accomplishment.

It really seems that Blizzard is making PUG stuff super easy, for even the most down of Down Syndrome players, but the true challenge is in the raiding content.
