well my 1st reaction when watching the youtube demo was damn that thing is cool. Then as with all things I consider how something can be abused. Pranks, peeping, random old people freaking out when they see something odd and calling the police.

You of course realize that would work with any Wifi device with a accelerometer, all the way down to a Nokia 5500.

I find it somewhat weird that Apple would completely block the technology required to stream live video FROM the iPhone(via Qik or something), but would allow a device to stream live video directly TO the device. Looks laggy as fuck regardless, though.

well there will be the iPhone app for this thing but the company is only doing the iPhone app no Android. But they will release the motion control libraries so 3rd parties could make Android control apps.

You misunderstand. They block live stream of data from the iPhones camera to another source. IE: Record a video, and someone goes to a URL and watches what you're doing live.

I was just surprised they allowed the reverse.

While those versions of the iPhone were technically capable of recording video, the capability was hampered until recently, when Apple enabled recording through the third-party iVideoCamera app.

Looks like you were right, but they only unblocked the capability a little more than a week ago. You could have at least mentioned that in your reply instead of making it seem like I was flat out wrong ;p
