Actor Kevin McCarthy, 96 - best known for roles in Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the movie version of Death of a Salesman..
Personally I remember him as the rival station owner to Weird Al in UHF.
It's been a bit, but someone was kind enough to post Satoshi Kon's final words on dying (translated to English) on the net.

I honestly have no clue who that man is, but that was very touching.
Satoshi Kon was an anime movie director, most of his material dealt with dreams/paranoia/psychology, tricks of the mind. His most famous work is probably the movie Perfect Blue (singer turned actress battles with herself), but more recently his potentially last work, Paprika, was released (dream terrorism). My personal favorite of his movies was Millennium Actress (retired actress relives her life in a journey of memory). Kon's movies are definitely worth checking out for anyone who enjoys beautiful animation and a seriously good storyline.
No idea how the hell I missed this since I'm a daily NPR listener.. longtime journalist and regular commentator Daniel Schorr died on July 23 at age 93.

Wow that's terrible.![]()
Not saying this to be an ass but, how the hell do they know he wasn't just trying to avoid the colision and swung the steering wheel to the right too much and it actually made their car's back slide to the left?
whenever there's a fatal crash, an investigator trained in tire skids and crash point analysis and whatnot comes out and looks over the scene. Total guess, but i'd imagine they figured thats what he did based on what was on the scene. Jimmcgarrell is a cop iirc, maybe if he catches this thread he might know more about it being in the field.
Leonard Skinner died earlier today. He was the teacher that was the inspiration for the name Lynyrd Skynyrd.
A wide receiver for the Denver Broncos was also found dead. Can't remember his name, but he may or may not have been Eric Cartman's father.

wow this sucks i wonder what was wrong
You are correct, each police department has a set of auto investigators highly trained in auto related accidents. It's actually pretty scary what they can tell you about a accident, by looking at the car involved and skid marks (plus other variables)
For a accident like this, there is a window of opportunity to "guide" your car in a direction for certain types of impacts. With basic human nature, most drivers guide their cars so the passenger side takes most of the impact instead of the driver side (hence why drunk drivers usually cause more injuries to other occupants of the car, instead of themselves)
For this accident, it seems the investigator deemed the driver was able to hit said "window of opportunity" and brought most of the force to his side.....If he over corrected his steering, then tire marks would have shown that.
