I agree Peyton should have won, but I found it absurd that Chris Johnson didn't get a single vote.

No one's going to vote for an 8-8 team. No matter how dominating he is.

I dont like agreeing with a philly fan on a day that we do battle, but I agree. Pretty much single handedly kept the Titans afloat this year, if you would consider it that.

I'm getting sick of this "more with less" crap concerning Peyton. Guy has been in the same offense with the same (great) offensive coordinator his entire career, and has always been surrounded with immense offensive talent. He has one of the best pass protecting offensive lines in the game, along with two of the best targets in Wayne and Clark. It's always been this way, going back to Faulk and Harrison, so please, the guy doesn't have "less."

He's an all-time great and arguably the best QB today, but Brees should've gotten the award.. Brees set an NFL record for completion %, and had a passer rating nearly 10 points higher. As well as Manning played, he did have 11 INTs in the second half; if you're going to give it to him this year, you may as well give it to him every season.

Peyton will never have a different OC because he IS the OC. For all intents and purposes, he calls the plays etc. Manning runs the show on that team. He's all but a player/manager type in baseball. No other QB has as much of an impact on what happens on offense as manning. If you take him away it would be like taking away Brady AND the OC on the pats or something like that. Manning really should get this award every year like Jordan should have back in the day in the NBA.

Not to mention, while he has had "great talent" around him in previous years, this year he's doing it with a pro bowl TE, random receivers and virtually no running game. That argument doesn't fly this year.

I'm well aware of how much influence Manning has in terms of being the OC himself. That said he's still been fortunate to A) get to this point with assistance from Tom Moore, and B) have the opportunity to be that "coach on the field." ... Where if the coaching was in flux, you risk someone coming in and not giving him all that freedom.

The entirety of this point pales in comparison to the talent around him, though.

I hope you're kidding.. Dallas Clark is incredible - more important than Wayne, and Wayne is one of the best recievers going. The two of them alone are more than enough when combined with good protection.. They each had 100 catches.. It hardly matters who the other targets are, but Addai out of the backfield and Garcon/Collie have done well.

Bolded is a HUGE misconception. The Colts have a weak offensive line this year, Manning isn't able to take as many shots down the field because of this. He tailors his game to his offense's limitations. The Colts running game is pretty shitty and getting the production he has out of Collie and Garcon is pretty impressive.

Manning, Brees, and Chris Johnson were all deserving, no problem with Peyton winning it.

You ever wonder why Garcon and Collie have done so well? Ever wonder why he has had two hall of fame WRs? Ever wonder why Dieon Branch was a superbowl MVP on NE and is a nobody in Seattle? Hint: it's not hard to catch a ball that hits in the in numbers 95% of the time.

It's rare that I see him not have enough time to go through his progressions, and he's barely ever touched, let alone sacked. The Colts OL allowed a league-best 43 "QB hits" along with a league-best 13 sacks. Now, is a large part of that Manning making adjustments and knowing where to go with the ball? Absolutely, but the fact is he's hardly ever touched, let alone sacked, and some of that credit has to be given to his pass protection...
