It's going in bursts and starts but I can already feel my mood improving with the improved and refined selection of music. Melancholic music is fine when the days are long and it's warm but when the days get short I'm susceptible to getting Seasonal Affective Disorder so clearing out the hippy and folk fodder goes a long way to ensuring I don't get depressed. I deleted a lot of albums that I reallly only like for 2-3 songs too. I still have 20.9 days of music, 57.4 GB's.
i did sorta and now i'm sitting on 367 gigs
prob listened to like 80% of it at least once
    prob can recall like 70%
however it's really fun digging out something amazing that you had buried in your library for a while

and yes phantogram should stop being lazy and put out more shit

Just found this... not sure how so much awesomeness can be in one song. Maybe it will wear off after a few listens, but holy shit!

    secret is

i just like listening to a lot of stuff; cool thing about my library is that i can chronicle what genres i was into these past years. although listening to so many various things is taxing on my short term memory
actually now that i think about it it's probably closer to 330gb, forgot i refined my library on my laptop, not desktop

also: really really excited for new heems since nehru jackets ruled and the released tracks are all mint

That's amazing. I recently suffered a hard drive failure so I lost all of my music. Then I was on a kick where I would only listen to music made in 2012. Nothing else. I have an obsessive personality. I feel right at home listening to the same album or the same song over and over and over. I've been listening to Kendrick Lamar's new album on repeat since it's come out and I'm just liking it more and more with each replay. I have difficulty wrapping my head around that much music. What tracker is that?

I think I'm gonna do a write-up of my favorite albums of 2012 starting in December. There's been so much good music this year and I'm feeling more confident in my writing than I have in recent years. I've read so many music reviews that I think I can really capture what makes this year's music so great.

Jesus Christ. This song is epic. I'm not much of a metal guy but this song is epic. I like these kind of songs.

    that's what.cd
i usually sample an album by listening to it once, twice more if i liked it, then periodically if it stuck
tend to disregard or shy away from blogosphere hype; i proooobably should get on that kendrick wave but too lazy

unfortunately, i'm less versed in films and much less in literature so there's a trade off i guess

also i feel like 2009 kindda sucked but these last 3 years have been ace. bedroom musicians on soundcloud/bandcamp/tumblr are the scene man, esp with hip hop

I love Gallowbraid, even though he pretty much straight rips off Agalloch. :D Still a great band though.

I'm the same way, I know I was pushing 300gb when I was still downloading actively. These days I stream religiously ( <3 Spotify/Soundcloud) and my hard drive thanks me for it.
