You and I both. QQ
10 Pin indeed.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!
yeah yeah inflation or whatever you wanna say, but i haven't bowled since childhood when it was <$1 per game and $2 for shoes.
i guess they figured out how much more people would pay, but shit's too expensive these days for a hack like me.
also, my favorite part was always palming a 6-8 lb. ball and putting some spin on it to make a non-weighted ball curve like the pros did it on tv.
I bowl on a league and have been bowling since as long as I can remember. I'm a right handed bowler that throws a left handed hook. I get shit about it all the time but it works. I threw my first 300 game last march which I went 13 strikes in one game and threw 5 more in the 3rd game. I ended up missing a 700 series by 2 pins, cause I had a pretty shitty first game.
I'm not sure how I got a 300 game but I did and with an avg at the time of only 184.
QQ h8u. The reverse hook isn't that bad, I used to do the same thing when I first, first started bowling. Oddly enough that was the one time in my whole entire life I picked up a 7-10 split. My odd style made me go for the 10 pin and it ricocheted off the back and clipped the 7 pin and me and my coaches were like WTF!!!
But it was during warm-ups and didn't count towards my patch QQ
this thread just proves that there is nothing miz cannot relate to
I used to bowl competitively back in the day and almost became a touring pro. I did bowl in a few regional pro tournaments but never had much success.
The last league I was in (2001) I had a 225 average, and the few years leading up to it had averages ranging from 200-220.
When I was in high school I used to bowl for scholarship money and made like 25k total in 3 years, and got a couple scholarship offers for college.
I also have never bowled a 300 game yet, but have so many 298-299 games I lost count. I've thrown 22 strikes in a row 4 times (279 and three 290's first game, 298 and three 299's second game). I also have more 800 series than I can count too.
I haven't bowled competitively since 2001, or period since 2005, for no other reason than I just lost interest. I knew I wasn't good enough to be a top touring pro, and regional tournaments didn't pay shit unless you finished top 5.
Oh yeah, I worked at a bowling alley in high school that hosted a Women's Pro Tour event, and I got to bowl with Leanne Barret in the Pro Am. She was smoking hot back then, even though she's like 6' tall, and we won it easily. It was really hard being 16 trying to bowl with a hard on the whole time.
I worked in a bowling alley too as my first job lol. That is one thing you hit spot on dude, bowling is an easy way to get scholarship money as well.
I used to bowl about 2x every week for a few years, but that was back in HS/College (graduated '04) so it's been a while. Mainly because disc golf is my sport/recreation of choice now.
Always used the 2 finger technique, and had pretty good luck with it. Best score right handed is a 239, left handed (same technique) is 199. I should start bowling again in the wintertime. I think if I played a lot now I could get 250+.
