Compound naming halp? (basic org. chem)

I know this is an ester, and normally naming esters is easy. However, with the additional CH3 attached I can't figure out for the life of me how to name it. I scoured my textbook but - no surprise - they have NO information on how to add in the CH3 to a compound name, they just say it's named by the carbons and the attachment on to the Oxygen with the single bond.
So I figured it would be 3-methyl isopropyl pentanoate? Nope!
isopropyl pentanoate maybe? If you discount the additional CH3? Nope!
3-methylisopropyl pentanoate!? Nope!
So I'm stuck, I know it's probably really simple too

Same thing with this one, I know it's an Aldehyde but how do I add in the CH3 with the compound name?

I don't care for the answer, but a lil explanation on how you add in the addition CH3 (or any common alkyl group) would be appreciated

I would number carbons in the longest alkane chain starting at the functional group of interest (ester or carbonyl).

Isopropyl 3-methylpentanoate.
3-methylbutanal.

In the case of esters, you name the hydroxyl first but end with yl, and then the acid.
You number carbons starting from the highest priority functional group. The longest unbroken chain of carbons determines whether you use butane, pentane, etc. The numbered compounds are listed in alphabetic order.
