Going on record right now.. if Comcast/NBC Universal moves any of the kickass shows from USA to NBC (Burn Notice, White Collar, Psych or even L&O:CI) I'm gonna choke a bitch.
They can take that piece of shit In Plain Sight tho..
Not really, more like a time loop since Leno DID oust Carson and fucked over Letterman in the process.
Speaking of Letterman, I bet he's licking his chops right now. No matter how this plays out, it's a win in his book. Ultimate victory would be Conan telling NBC to fuck off and he suddenly appears on The Late Show.
I meant Carson Daly, not Johnny Carson.
New late night schedule
11:35-12:05 The Jay Leno Show
12:05-1:05 The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien
1:05-2:05 Late Night With Jimmy Fallon
Would the 12:05 time slot allow Conan to go back to a little more "mature" (or immature, the way you look at it) humor like the masturbating bear? In addition, this move could be good just for the possibility of Daily Show -> Colbert -> Conan every night (though I don't need this since I have a 2 channel DVR)
More likely Conan will just leave for Fox and compete with Leno/Letterman
Conan just gave the finger more or less to NBC. Nothing has been decided yet officially, but he released a statement saying that he won't do the Tonight Show at a different time slot:

Kudos to him for standing his ground. I'm sure NBC isn't going to budge and Conan will likely be gone from the Tonight Show. I would wager he ends up on another network.Conan O’Brien says he will not do “The Tonight Show” if it airs at 12:05 a.m. He released the following statement Tuesday afternoon:People of Earth:
In the last few days, I’ve been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I’ve been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I’ve been absurdly lucky. That said, I’ve been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.
Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.
But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months, with my Tonight Show in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.
Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. I sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t the Tonight Show. Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking the Late Night show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot. That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.
So it has come to this: I cannot express in words how much I enjoy hosting this program and what an enormous personal disappointment it is for me to consider losing it. My staff and I have worked unbelievably hard and we are very proud of our contribution to the legacy of The Tonight Show. But I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet a time slot doesn’t matter. But with the Tonight Show, I believe nothing could matter more.
There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.
Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it’s always been that way.
Yours,
Conan
Fucking right Conan. Stand your ground. And Fox has already thrown their hat into the ring saying they would love to have Conan hosting something.
He recognized the problem for what it was: two institutions of television were being uprooted so that Jay Leno could get a better time slot.
Conan has brass balls, though, man. Brass fucking balls.
Damn right Conan!
Shit he knows by now that the second he would leave he's going to have multiple networks pursuing him. Welcome to free agency buddy! Hurry up and call Scott Boras mother fucker!!
I don't think Fox would mind the masturbating bear.
Just sayin'
Fucking love Conan, and I hate seeing this shit happen. But honestly, theres tons of places he can go and people willing to pick him up immediately.
I love Conan.
New item on my bucket list:
Give a speech or write a press release that I can begin with the words "People of Earth:"
<3 Conan O'Brien.
his show last night was awesome. He continually took shots at NBC for screwing him.
I do hope Conan leaves NBC or they leave him at the 11:30 time slot. How is putting The Jay Leno show at 11:30 gonna make it any better than the suckfest it already is. Odds are NBC likes that Conan would quit just so they could give Jay back The Tonight Show.
Someone call HBO, we need a sequel made!

^I love Conan.
I feel sorry for NBC cause they will regret losing Conan in the long run.
