I'm assuming this is for some form of customer support center job (it says it requires customer service experience) so do note, that they are also testing you on your phone etiquette and tone.

You can also turn your limited CS experience into a positive; find your own way of saying something about how you wont have to unlearn habits you may have picked up from previous employers if they do not mesh well with the procedures at this job.

Finally, just remember that you can turn just about any job you've ever had into CS experience. Any job where you interact with a customer is customer service experience. If you talked to someone whom was your customer, regardless of job title, that is customer service.

Example: you were a stock boy at a grocery store, but you helped customers find shit when they asked in a positive friendly manner. Customer Service experience. Interviewers and recruiters like to fuck with your head, so you can do it right back lol.

I would love the job but now I just don't know.
Don't worry about this. The qualifications that are listed are almost always more than what is required to do the job.

If you have none (working) experience, that is fine.

You simply say that you've fixed/taught friends/family on how to use PCs (or in this case, configure mobile phones) and fixed things for them and that you would love to do more of that, and that you enjoy troubleshooting/fixing things.

Otherwise, as Killgannon has put it, it doesn't have to be experience in this specific field, it could be anywhere.

Khamsin: Yeah your guy sounded awesome, but as you said, depends on who. I had an absolute robot who refused to have any chat with me.

One final thing, you can bullshit and exaggerate and bend things a little, but don't outright lie.

Dressing up professionally helps with confidence as well. No, don't wear suit but if you get nervous fast avoid sitting naked or whatever.

Other than stuff mentioned above, you may also want to have a room where you can stand up and walk around.

Odds are the initial phone screen is an HR recruiter who knows fuck all about the job. They're going to list the requirements and ask if you meet them, past experience, etc. Just pace yourself, try to keep the conversation related to the interview, and be friendly. HR recruiters are typically utter dumbasses, one of the ones I spoke with 2 weeks ago couldn't even get my first name right. One thing to be carefull of is if tell them you don't match the requirements 100% you're probably going to get passed over now with the market the way it is.

If it's the actual hiring manager expect the above as well as more specifics about the job and how you'd be a good fit for them.

Edit: NVM hope it went well (*'-')

    so how did it go?

you didnt tell us what position it is, but it sounds like a phone customer service rep position to me from what you are saying.

if you dont tell them you own an iphone, they will hire you right away lol
    j/k

i had a phone interview before too, but it was actually the employer called and wanted to schedule an interview with me. but i was not available in the only day they were available, so they asked if he can interviewed on the phone, so i was like ok.
at the end i didnt accept the job offer.

    edit: sup monkor and kuro!
