I have a system with good specs that I'd like to sell, but it's lacking some pieces. I've never looked into selling computer components, other than video cards, and am looking to get the most money I can out of what I have. The system is currently setup in a busted up case, which no one would want to buy. I have been using it to run different operating systems for classes, but that's not needed anymore.
Quick specs:
Processor: Core 2 Duo E8400
Motherboard: Gigabyte P35 DS3L
RAM: GEIL 4 GB (2x2)
PSU: Antec Neo HD 650W
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer
I had an HD 4870 512 MB in it originally, but currently have an old Nvidia 6600 equipped to save on power consumption. The 4870 is still in my possession and I could use that in a package. I also have an HP 23" 1080p TN monitor I'd also like to sell that I could add.
There's a Seagate 7200 250 GB installed, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to sell used HDDs.
I'm wondering what the best way to go about selling everything. I could purchase a decent $60 case and try to sell it as a package, but do people buy systems like this? Warranties and such would be sketchy and I don't really want someone coming after me because something failed after a month or two (although that seems unlikely.) I'm not really hype on putting more money into it if it's not going to pay off.
Should I try to sell the components in a package or individually? Keep it local to avoid the annoyances of shipping? How much do you think I could get out of it?
I'm not sure where to start, so I'm hoping some people around here have some ideas.
