Okay, I've taken your criticisms to heart. I don't expect anyone to reread the whole thing over again as it is quite long and the changes are small in comparison. Huge thanks to everyone who lent a hand.
I don't know, this seems like a stupid question. The target audience would be people who are interested in reading about this game(or interested in reading about a random beat em up). People play and criticize games whether they be 4 months old, 4 years old, or 15 years old. Am I missing something here?
You're missing the fact that you're a dumbshit and nobody cares about anything you have to say
impressive
Thanks for the clarification. Peasants do have their uses!
Keep trying to feel special on a video game forum because you know your life is empty and meaningless
it didn't, it's just strange.
My only criticism is your score, or more precisely, that you gave a score to the game. In other threads, you seem to dismiss all game reviewers and their potential readers who run off and say with pride or rage that "X Scored a ?/10!!"
People have been asking you what your motivation for writing this review, and I was wondering why you wrote this review as well. My best guess was that you thought you could do it better. I think the review was well written, but a scale (X out of 5, or X out of 10) needs to mean something if you use it. I believe that is your complaint with game reviewers.. that they hand out 9s and 10s without much deliberation.
I understand you want game reviewers to be more serious about reviews, and this would be done best if they didn't assign a number and point out the positives and negatives of a game. Most people don't read reviews. They look at the numbers. Once you gave a number to the game, it didn't matter how eloquent or how specific you were in your review... the number was all that mattered.
I agree with most of the criticism you gave the game, and once again, it was well written. Now give us a review of a game you love.. so that your scale means something. Tell us what a five is... but tell us through your review of the game.. not with a number.
Alternatively, just shut the fuck up
Oh fuck. This is in spamland!
I don't instantly dislike number scores, but I can understand where you are coming from. Basically it is just another thing people might mess up(or lie with, if we really want to get cynical), but they are very useful if you got a good handle of them. I don't like 10 point or 100 point systems because it is just more room to mess up. Though I wrote a number, in my head 1-5 is very bad, bad, mixed, good, and very good. Okay, it isn't so primitive, but I hope you understand where I am going with this. What I see is people not using this gold standard when you start getting into twice as many numbers and fractions. Leads to this value inflation where everything is off by 3 to 4 points. (Then again, a game like Batman: Arkham Asylum getting high numbers is a different issue. That has more to do with critics not doing their job well enough. From my perspective anyway...)I think the review was well written, but a scale (X out of 5, or X out of 10) needs to mean something if you use it. I believe that is your complaint with game reviewers.. that they hand out 9s and 10s without much deliberation.
Yeah, I guess people might dismiss someone instantly or ignore what they write after seeing a number they are not pleased with, but I wonder if that type of ignorance is even avoidable. Were they ever interested in reading a review(or better said: see something from another point of view)? On the other hand an abnormal score might provoke a skim for being controversial, so maybe it balances out.
This is exactly what I am going for. Only a matter of time.I agree with most of the criticism you gave the game, and once again, it was well written. Now give us a review of a game you love.. so that your scale means something. Tell us what a five is... but tell us through your review of the game.. not with a number.
