Last Rebellion [PS3]

Saw no thread about this. Anyway, in the onslaught of JRPG's coming in the first half of 2010, I had never heard of this one. It is currently slated for Jan 28th release in Japan, Feb 23rd in US and March for EU.

Exploration is free-roaming, but in combat, the mechanics become turn-based. The battle system will allow the player to target specific body parts of an enemy, and the reaction will be realistic; hence, if you shoot out the legs of an opponent, his or her movement will be drastically reduced, while blows to the arms will weaken their attacks. By strategically striking key areas of the body, players can strip the enemy of their ability to fight. Players can switch back and forth between the two characters during battle. Since Nine and Aisha share a single turn, the player must strategically choose which character will execute their attacks first.

sounds cool, but pretty much every game I've ever played with a battle system like that ended up being a headshot-fest. why take out the legs when you can just kill someone? they'd need to balance the advatanges and disadvantages of targeting different body parts to making it work. hopefully, they will.

Stuff like that is usually balanced by how easy the target area is to hit. Targetting the head usually has the lower % of success, while body, arms, legs would have higher %'s.

Just bought and I'm currently 20mins into it and it seems worth the price. If it was $60 then no it wouldn't be. The battle system has some nice strategic value in it.

Man, I wanted this game until I read the RPGamer review, they slammed it bad. Said the battle system was the highlight, but the story was worse than garbage, and the graphics were last gen. I think I'm going to pass on this game for the time being.

Nine(main character) voice actor is just horrible. Sadly so far the battle system is the only highlight for it and the graphics feel like a ps2 game. The music is alright too and the map areas are ok.

Voice Acting: 5 -It's alright and the person who voices Aisha did Faye on cowboy bebop dub.

I'm only an hour in so can't comment on that much. Oh and good luck trying to escape from enemies on the map, they will follow you no matter what, you're forced to fight what you see. They gain crazy amounts of speed when you try to run away from them.

Having Nine on the field = MP regen 1mp/sec
Having Aisha on the field = HP regen 23+ or something like that/sec
