Ok, I'm really don't know much about anime or what not so i thought I'd dive into the vast knowledge of fellow BGers for some help. I have a friend who is HUGE into anime, cos playing etc etc. Their birthday is coming up and i want to get them some anime dvd's for them but haven't the faintest clue as what to get. If it helps any at all this friend is a girl and i think one of the ones she likes is called sugar? I could be wrong but i think that is one haha. Though I know that particular type isn't the only kind she likes AFAIK she's into just about any. Any help would be great.

Moribito is a great anime. It's a classic story it's not an ecchi pantsu type anime. The production quality is high and I really just love this anime. It's an anime with a story and the characters are deep. If you watch it you actually appreciate anime as an story telling art form and not an outlet for loli obsessed perverts.

Outlaw Star (Girls tend to like this one because its pretty much what if Firefly was an anime)

I would suggest getting her firefly as well since girls seem to like it lots too.

I've never watched but my female friend is fond of Full Metal Panic

Lucky Star is a good one for girls too.
