Surprised there isnt a thread for this somewhere here. It's quickly becoming one of the most popular free computer games. Although you can actually buy the game and get some extras.

Pretty much its like DotA from Warcraft III. It's made and designed by two guys from Blizzard (Now called Riot). It's a real time strategy game in which 5 players try to destroy the base of the other 5 players. You can choose from a large list of characters to play for each game. It's very simple but it doesn't hold your hand in the least. It's really fun and addicting...Just in time for the new semester! :D

Just curious if anybody plays this.

it's actually designed by the guys who did DotA (who then got hired at blizzard), so it's not surprising that it's basically the exact same thing.

i liked dota way more to be honest, of course i haven't played dota since like v5 something (when they gave clinx perma-invis for no reason for like a day), i just felt like LoL didn't flow as well for some reason

LoL is a joke compared to DotA, no real dota players play it. They play HoN or the original shit. Basically, it's dota on super easy mode, if that's even possible.

I actually liked that LoL took a different approach to the genre instead of just copying DotA word for word. It's a fresh change but it does have more flaws compared with HoN.

The leveling/rune/talent systems are great. Plus I love how they incorporated items to scale with your spells, one huge problem was how intelligence heroes became weaker towards the end of the game and this actually addresses that issue very nicely.

I'd say give it a shot if you're getting bored of DotA. Either way there isn't really an excuse to play DotA any more seeing as how HoN is just updating it so much more often and it has a huge improvement graphics wise.
