I'm looking for some good information and application of the ni wheel @ lv 75. I know its useful in the ENM Holy Cow and can be used to solo Ix'Mnk and Jailer of Fortitude among a few other things. Has anyone done any extensive testing with Innin? Or tried to any innovative ideas with the wheel?

I tried an innovative idea with it, plus usefulness minus Ninjutsu wheel and called it Red Mage.

This + Innin won't work if you're soloing, unless you can find a way to get behind the mob.

Interesting, but certainly not worthwhile, and it's the only mob NIN can solo and RDM can't that I can think of. NIN is a cool job and can be very strong, but virtually anything it can do RDM can do better.

With a friend taking bombs which would've otherwise magic aggro'd him and ended his fight. That's not a true solo.

Never watched the video didn't know that but ya not a true solo. I don't get why people bash nins its a good tank job on things it can melee for dps and tanking. Though on hnm plds just became too powerful with all the buffs given to them.

The only thing I could think of to try and bring nin closer to pld is to give ninjutsu an uninteruptable job ability property while while being main job only. Though that really shouldn't be huge in any retrospect since a good nin with support should be able to keep shadows up at all given time regardless baring certain mobs.

At least I'd be more inclined to invite ninjas in an exp pt that way

Like ? What's worthwhile to solo AND not boring ? Temperance ? 4 h to pop 4h to kill ? Ix'DRk ? 4H to pop 4 h to kill (yay for reraise) and no TH.... Sky pop ? Seriously people still make cash out of this shit ? RDM can't beat THF for money making. Ix'DRK ? Enjoy your ZERO / 40 as rdm/THF on the pop which is your best option. So what's else ? ENM ...? 3H running around for no drops, nice waste of time.

If this guy enjoys soloing on NIN let him do, soloing on RDM is also not interesting and boring, duo or trio are much more rewardable and enjoyable.

God fucking damnit. I hate having to agree with pchan.

Pretty much all of the "amazing" solos are utter shit for time:value. The only worth they really have is to prove that you can, and to try something truly hard.

So by that yardstick, it doesn't matter worth two shits that RDM can solo more hard things, because the end goal is the same regardless of job: to push yourself.

My RDM can solo rings around my NIN, but for me NIN is a much better adrenaline pump. Who cares if a "hard" mob for NIN might be middling to easy for RDM, the fight and the win are a lot more exhilarating (for me).

One man's experiences can vastly differ from another, but I must say, its a complete 180 for me(unless you're talking about lolkiting fights). There's just so much to juggle when it comes to melee-soloing on RDM, its great.

nin is still the best tank job 40-73. And like I said above if the mob is within VT-IT range and NIN can hit, then it will outperform pld. In anything higher or something that spams AOES that goes through shadows PLD will outperform. However NIN doesn't suck because of it it is only less beneficial because most of the time a nin/drk will keep hate over a pld/nin. (unless it is a mob that spams AOE than nin really can't do anything). Ninja is a job that the player needs to have a lower margin of error IE you can't be a shitty player. Unlike pld where if shadows are down they can just block and get them up and even if they can't they'll still take less dmg because of their abilities.
