Taruking, I'd stop here if I were you before Rich posts his screenshots of himself tanking AV/PW on NIN. He's what you'd call a "tank", who happens to prefer NIN over other jobs due to personal reasons; he tanked just as fine on other jobs, but that was his prefered one, same as PLD, RDM, SAM or DRK can be the prefered jobs of other people.

Even if he manages to prove tanking AV/PW on NIN is possible it still doesn't justify making NIN tank the first choice for those fights. There is no clear advantage of using NIN tanks over PLD tanks for most HNM level battles with the exception of few limited examples (stunnable HNMs that do not build resistance against stun). I doubt if any endgame LS will risk losing a PW pop so that some egoistic NIN tanks get to prove themselves.

I can never understand those kind of mentality. Unless your LS is figthing something extremely squishy there is no reason to go all out on hate managemet/damage mitigation. PLD can hold hate against standard DD jobs in this game 99% of the time. It all boils down to which job is able to handle dire situation better and function to an acceptable level without full support. Do not underestimate the importance of self-heal and healing others. A PLD co-tank actually contribute to the success of a NIN tank by keeping mp strain on healers to minimal. 2 NIN/DRK tanks are more likely to fail against PW/AV for the same reasons.

I tank stuff on NIN/DRK sometimes because it's a little variety, they're both fun to play and both hold hate extremely well.

The only difference is, any idiot can tank on PLD after all the updates, it requires half a brain to do so as well on NIN.

You can't even make an arguement without writing wall of text of no significant value, pulling your so-called rep card and supplementing your text with poorly constructed photoshoped picture equivalent to scribbled work of a 3 year old girl. You are not the only good tank in this game, and there are other modest players who can do the same if not better than you so stop using reputation as evidence to prove your point.

It seems that you can't even decide which side you should take. All you need to do is answer this simple question - is PLD more versatile than NIN in endgame battles and requires less support/healing which makes it a better tank of choice than NIN? If your answer is no, defend your point of view.
