merged with existing thread, and modern graphics is misleading, they are just increasing resolution, not actually redoing the graphics.

Wow, didn't know this was revealed back in January (or that this thread existed), just saw it on Slashdot this morning.

And I agree, the article is misleading then since yeah, their exact quote in the article is "updated with high-definition graphics". Ah well.

Never mind about buying Crazy Taxi

    http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/20/so...de-of-4-3-asp/

The Xbox Live Arcade versions of both Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure were playable at Sega's booth, and both still look great, even ten-plus years after their release. However, each game has one issue that keeps the XBLA (and PSN) version from absolute perfection.

In Crazy Taxi's case, it's the lack of licensed music and locations, meaning that destinations like Pizza Hut have been replaced by generic stores, and the Offspring and Bad Religion soundtrack has been swapped out for sorta/kinda soundalikes. Actually, given how many times we've heard the Crazy Taxi soundtrack in our lives (too many!), that might be a plus.

For Sonic Adventure, the limitation of the XBLA version is immediately apparent even to those who haven't played it before: it displays only in 4:3, with vertical bars (featuring a blue patterned background) on the sides of a widescreen display. A Sega rep told Joystiq that the code for Sonic Adventure couldn't be altered to support widescreen as easily as Crazy Taxi's.
It's not the same without YA YA YA YA

Just need a blank CD-R (not +R) and the ISO.

    http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/31/so...ber-15-for-10/

The first (but certainly not last) Dreamcast title to arrive on Xbox Live Arcade is, appropriately enough, the fastest. Major Nelson's latest schedule for the platform has revealed a September 15 release date for Sonic Adventure, which will be available for 800 Microsoft Points ($10). No word yet on the release plans for Sega's other previously announced Dreamcast revival, Crazy Taxi.

We've contacted Sega to find out if the game will arrive on PSN on a similar timetable. We also sent them an email with the subject line "Give us Seaman," followed by a body of text which simply read, "SEEEEEAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAN."

One game I'm surprised they haven't ported/remade for XBLA/PSN is Chu Chu Rocket. I'd pay damn good money for a functional copy of it on my PS3.

Same, I only played the crappy GBA port, but the game was pretty addicting.

I really want a PS3 now just for Crazy Taxi. Best driving game ever.

Tis a shame the XBLA/PS3 port is ditching the licensed music/landmarks.

Release September 15 (Tomorrow.) I feel a little awkward because I feel more excited for this than for Halo: Reach.

360 afaik. Can't wait to hear back as to how completely no-frills it is, including no wide-screen support. -.-

The whole widescreen thing is an issue with the source code of the game itself. The Dreamcast only displayed games at 4:3 so in order to get widescreen support they would have needed to go back into the source code and completely rewrite it.
