So much blue/red/orange lol.
So much blue/red/orange lol.
well... he's spiderman, what do you expect?
possible plot spoiler/definite rumor
Spoiler: show
Not sure how I feel about this, if true
That makes it even worse, shitty villain design and dumb backstory rewrite. I love spiderman but really hating what they doing here. It's a shame because I think the new actor is actually pretty good as Peter from what I've seen.
waaaaaaaaaaah they're doing the same boring old origin story
*new origin story*
waaaaaaaaaaaah change
jesus christ. how about wait til some people actually see it?
Or, they can just move the fuck on from the origin everyone is familiar with already and center their next three movies around something else.
Perhaps not killing off Norman Osborn in one film, make him a looming thread the way a evil genius billionaire pulling strings ought to be? Or maybe a villain Peter can't simply joke with and knock out, such as serial killer Carnage? The black suit itself could have made for a great trilogy in itself, I think, before perhaps culminating in Venom (and this coming from someone that isn't a venom fan). They could even pick up from after Gwen Stacy's death and introduce The Jackal and some Spider-Clones, turning it into an action/psychological thriller.
Just about anything would be better than revisiting the character's origin yet again.
Completly agree with Sunrider. Proper Spider-man movie with justice done to Venom and Carnage is all I hope and dream for
my point is until we see the movie it's pointless to bitch and moan and go omg this is shite. we went through all this crap with X-men First Class, and it was a great movie. Could spideman be ass? sure, but it's retarded to treat that as a foregone conclusion.
Shite? Possibly not. A waste of audience time and perfectly good performers? Maybe. Unoriginal and uninspired? Definitely.
First Class brought to film something that only the comic (and possibly cartoon) fans were privy to, in the meeting of Charles and Erik. We were exposed to characters that, in any medium, don't often get the spotlight (Havok, Darwin, Sebastian Shaw), amid a historically relevant setting (Cuban Missile Crisis).
Granted, it's nice to finally see The Lizard, and the inclusion of Peter's parents is refreshing, but do we really need to start from "awkward nerd gets bitten by mutated spider, gets powers" all over again? That story was told in film a decade ago, and is well-known in any medium. We can see something else now.
Wait. Why is there an issue with an Origin Story done right?
How is it unoriginal if the origin story is different?
Because people love to bitch? I mean honestly, wouldn't it be fucking weird if they just started off a new Spiderman movie, with a new cast and everything, and DIDN'T do an origin story? It would be, especially for the casual movie going public. At least they are putting their own twist on it.
And I just saw the newest trailer for the first time tonight before The Avengers. It looks awesome, and I was not even that excited about this movie. The trailer definitely converted me. I love wise cracking Spiderman, instead of mopey ass Tobey Maguire. It won't be a midnight show for me, but I'll definitely check it out at some point.
Got to see the trailer before Avengers as well, kind of impressed me actually. I wasn't really excited to see this until after the trailer too.
How could we ever hope to see justice for carnage in a PG-13 format? Wouldn't want to see Cletus at all in a PG-13 format. Carnage was raw as fuck, hate the idea of seeing a neutered Carnage. we would go from Cletus Kassidy to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sg-CK0Teark.
He is one villain that will never see the light of day in a movie format that is less than NC-17, due to his spree killing and murdering of all people in very gruesome ways (cutting down a mother and child down with his axes is one example i remember)
There is one big saving grace from that trailer, Peter Parker working on web-shooters.
Still looks rubbish, uncle ben needs to die before he becomes a hero or he does'nt make any sense.

lizard looks shitty but does look like he did at 1st
Origin story is a bit butchered, but many positives from this version compared to the other one. First off Peter doesn't seem to be a bitch. Also Emma Stone is hot as fuck.
3 things i don't like about this film "so far" so they could be wiped out by the film or they could piss me off more
#1 bitch don't change the story i don't want no splicing in my spider man movie!
#2 isn't the Doc meant to be a friend of peters? not sure i like him attacking spider man in the first film (since it was awhile til the doc tried to regrow his arm)
#3 peter Parker a skater? no he was a pencil pusher with no social life i don't want a cool super hero, no i do but we already have Iron man and batman
Should have just sold the rights to Marvel and had Tobey Maguire do Avengers.
And for everyone bitching about the origin, neither franchise got it right. In the first trilogy Peter didn't excrete web he made his web shooters. At least they got this right in the new one. Peter was a genius and this is something they never touched on in the originals.
