Hell yeah that was my biggest gripe with the Rami version where he could just shoot web without the use of Web Cartridges. The whole Web cartridge thing really kind of built on the fact that Peter was skilled in the scientific realm to come up with his own fluid that mimicked webbing.

I think the third one left a horrible taste in the mouths of those who watched it. I'm kind of hoping they go the Incredible Hulk route, where they explain his origins in an opening montage.
Keep in mind they are basically rebooting X-Men with the First Class movie too, and it is fairly new. Fox+Sony just want to maintain the properties, so they will do whatever they can to make new films(Expect Fantastic Four and Daredevil reboots in the next 2 years).

also, origin stories are cheap. i'm guessing they're the least risk, financially, as well.

Now that filming is in full swing on Marc Webb's Spider-Man, there have been a lot of casting stories and posts going around. One casting announcement that has yet to be made is for the role of Peter Parker's boss, J. Jonah Jameson, chief of the Daily Bugle.

According <redacted>, the reason is that J. Jonah Jameson won't be in the movie. This means that no one will be barking orders at Parker in the reboot. There were numerous rumors earlier that John Slatter or Sam Elliot had been cast in the role, but that does not seem to be the case.

Don't worry Spidey fans. The Daily Bugle could still be in film. That's not to say The Daily Bugle isn't in the movie, as the recent set photos of a Bugle delivery van show below.

Last night, the Spider-Man Reboot returned to S. Grand Ave in Los Angeles to shoot another stunt scene.

During last night’s shoot both Andrew Garfield (who plays Spider-Man) and a stuntman were on location taking turns filming a scene in which Spidey swings over the "New York City" traffic. In the photo above Andrew is climbing the ladder to for a shot on top of the truck while the stuntman can be seen standing next to him in the black jacket.

Completely agree, although both heavily overrated atleast she's a step up from Kristen Dunst. I kinna feel like when they replaced Katie Holmes with Maggie in batman, both blow.
