Ah, I think I misunderstood the ffxiclopedia page. 2H DDs probably need to get 2.25*MobDEF to cap. That'd be 735 or 724 for level 82 and 81 respectively without Dia III.

With dia III that would be 615. With 475 base attack, berserk puts you at 593, so only 22 attack from cap. In this case, for a WAR meripo I don't see chaos being great, and adding the DRK to increase chaos seems to have no effect 4/5 of the time. Even less if you time aggressor at the same time as berserk, getting a few more attack from gear swaps.
It's 72%, not 4/5. <_<
Still, Polearm benefits from this by starting with lower attack, so all the buffs actually do something.
For Polearm SAM, if I'm not mistaken it increases their WS frequency assuming they can pull off a reasonable 5-hit, increases their DoT because GKT DoT is shit, and gives them a better WS for normal mobs.
For Polearm WAR, slight increase in WS frequency, similar DoT because GA DoT is awesome, better WS, but much lower attack because you have less skill and have to eat Crab Sushi or Pizza depending on camp. Then there is piercing bonus where it applies.
It's pretty obvious to me now why people cream all over Polearm SAM but are fairly ~meh~ about Polearm WAR. Still, I don't think SAMs should be using Polearms if they can't 5-hit and maintain reasonable Acc (aka, eat crab sushi at least).
Polearm WAR doesn't have to eat sushi because of Aggressor mainly, Polearm SAM doesn't have to eat sushi because of Zanshin mainly. This is assuming good gear and merits.
Are you just an elaborate trolling scheme launched by the French government? If so, when the fuck are you going to surrender?
Well, hmm... look at this graph:
http://i318.photobucket.com/albums/m...ru/SAMmain.jpg
You can see that accuracy is worth less than without Zanshin. Specifically, it's worth about 60% as much for SAM between 78 and 95% base hit rate as for someone without Zanshin. Still, I don't know if it's worth disregarding. Even with SAM main Zanshin there's still a 10% increase in damage moving between 78 and 95% accuracy.
Alright, assume a polearm SAM has 85% base hitrate (my 6/8 polearm SAM with basic gear does). This means sushi caps your hitrate, and so does Zanshin.
1000 attack rounds, 17% DA, assume DA procs before Zanshin:
85% hitrate:
994.5 from base hitrate and DA, 53 extra from Zanshin, total 1047.7
95% hitrate:
1111.5 from base hitrate and DA, 25 extra from Zanshin, total 1136.5
Sushi increase: 8.4%. Is 65 attack worth more than that? Yes, yes it is. Keep in mind the 8.4% applies to weaponskill damage too, since Zanshin can proc on it.
I have anecdotal evidence that supports this, though I've never seen it discussed much.
Tachi:Enpi with my level 22 SAM vs. Mandragoras in Bubu did pretty normal damage and gave me a 3-hit TP return. No DA possible, so I assumed Guard and Zanshin proc-ed on one of the hits (though it still did damage).
For COR WS; Slug and Detonator
Denali Jacket v. Commodore Frac
Enkidu's Subligar v. Commodore Culottes
Which combination would be best at birds?
They aren't piercing if synced. Feel free to verify, but my experience is that all weapons are reset to their normal weapon type under level caps (for BCNMs at least.)
Die by the Sword is a BC30 in Fei'yin with damage-type immune evil weapon mobs. I took Joyeuse, Justice, and a Yew Wand in there expecting to be able to do three types of damage. Turns out I could only do two because Joyeuse was reset to slashing type damage under the level 30 cap.
Creek M Clomps or Rutter Sabatons for ws
Y/G/K
Then use Creek unless fighting some of the few HNMs where your attack wont be capped with them.
Lvling my first mage job to 75 and want to know order of importance for HQ staves as a RDM?
Also wondering if anyone can give me a link to iirc Callistos RDM/COR guide? Thanks.
Aquilos > Terras > Plutos > Austers > Neptunes > Jupiters > Vulcans > Apollos
(solely for rdm, order changes with other mages)
