    Sprint 4G

I currently work for an authorized sprint dealer in florida, and im aware that the 4g has went live in bigger cities, none around here tho.

people are reporting that the d/l speed is around and upwards of 7mbps. Any of you have any first hand reports with it

yea thats what i said.... i know their 3g connection cards have a 5gig D/L limit, but supposedly on the 4G network its going to be completely unlimited...

if it is and gets turned on down here soon i'll be getting one. 20 dollars a month for employee discount, cant beat that.

Too bad phones wont see this service till the end of 2010 at the earliest. I'd love to pick up a new phone with 4g, as sprint does not really have a problem with you tethering. I bet once this service hits phones however, they will add a cap.... hopefully at least 15gigs.

I just wonder if the latency improved at all. Bandwidth doesn't mean anything if the latency is like a full second.

For mobile phone browsing that's not that much of a problem. But for gaming...

That's what home internet service and wifi is for. Wireless broadband is for laptops/netbooks on the go, not as a home internet replacement.

we have a couple of people buy them for home entertainment and its ok....

we just got an email today from our service rep... there is indeed another 5G limit on this card. Which is ridiculous in my opionion, there goes my hopes of tryign to replace my shitty DSL with this card....

the reason for for the 5G limit they say is because the computers are unable to understand the term "unlimited" so they put a 5gig limit on it because, "Nobody will concievably ever go over that, not in one month" is what they tell us... i see it more often than not these days

So their 4G plans have the same limit as their 3G? Interesting, we'll see how long that holds up if they charge more for 4G than 3G.

its the same price as the 3g which is the one nice thing.. still shitty about the 5g limit.

maybe they'll offer a higher priced plan for unlimited.. havent heard anything about it yet tho

Friend still has a truly unlimited 3g card in his router, he had a plan before they set the 5 gig limit in effect so it does not apply to him, lucky bastard.
