no, it's not beside the point. The NBA got killed because the face of their sport (Marbury, iverson, etc) had a thug image that was killing the brand. Stern, probably the best pro sports commish for how well he markets, put in a dress code, became progressive, and ended that. Point being, they were progressive, they helped their image. Goodell is doin that now to the NFL. There isn't a single "face" of the NFL (manning, Brady, romo, Peterson, LT, and so on) that have been implicated with any brand tarnishing issues. Baseballs most glamorious position is fucking riddle with roid use because they couldn't be progressive. The sport itself embellishing records, puttin their HoF on absurd pedastals (or the voting at least) is the antithesis of progressive. MLB is the next NHL unless they get a competant commish and a competant union.

The funny thing is the majority of the players that get caught for steroids are guys that look about like that, except for Merriman I guess. He looks so much smaller and less effective since he apparently got off of those lol
