As someone who likes various types of electronic music (progressive house, dnb, dub step to a degree, and some trance) I'm just curious as to why you refer to the DNB fans as "dnb douchebags"?

Because I was a dnb dj for about 8 years and the fanbase in the UK and other countries I've played is much, much different than the US fanbase. The majority of the dickwads that come to dnb events smell like BO, wear camo, have dreads and are white, and don't know shit about the music.

Also, most american dnb dj's play shit pitched up to an alarming speed just to make it sound harder when it completely detracts from the music.

There are some really cool dnb heads out here that get it, but it's a very small minority. Which is why even in Boston I've seen Ak1200 pull more heads than fucking Klute or Digital which is the complete opposite across the pond.

American dnb heads rarely know shit about the music and they're usually just white hip-hop rejects that find solace in a form of dance music they think makes them look hard.

Ultra? Ultra is a fucking shit show catering to kids and douchebags. The real parties are the industry parties and label parties around town.

I know the latter, and assumed the former. :3

The lack of trance in that lineup is pretty much the best thing about it in my opinion. Lots of electro and dubstep in it.

You think I want trance? lol fuck that shit. Way to slow for me. (Disclaimer: I do listen to trance, and usually like it, but it's still too slow for me )

Drum and bass is particularly fast, clocking in at around 140-160 BPM

I'm part of a small demographic in the US, and sometimes wish I was in the UK. 180-210 BPM is where I roll. Hardcore til I die~ (I think I should start using my old avatar now, hah.)

This festivals line up is pretty damn commercial in the scene, much kiddo's diggin many of these guys playing and performing. Straight from Beatport's top chart crap list.

WMC will be way better. Sadly I won't participate in person but my tracks and tons of my friends will, rather visit that event instead.
