Didn’t the creators say they ran out of plot lines for spies and submitted the drug running season as a joke and FX approved it so they kept going. I loved the first episode of new season, feels like a return to old times.

It was a mix of that, the whole ISIS thing + Adam Reed starting to get bored. You'll notice around the second or third episode of Archer 1999 he was no longer the primary writer, and it seemed things were improving after that point.

Been gunning through the seasons since I left off forever ago since (I figure) they're probably gonna be wrapping it up soon. Vice almost lost me, solely because of how insufferable they made Pam. Other than that it's been great though. Just started the first coma season.

I stopped watching this show during the Vice season. I don't really remember why I stopped watching, but it used to be a fave. I think about Lana describing Krieger's van as "rolling probable cause" ALL the time. Should I continue where I left off?

You don't have to. The coma seasons were extremely unfunny somehow despite seeming like they should be grounds for some fun. They should have ended the show last season and it looked it was over.

Final season started, eps 1&2 out

Ehhhhh, Didn't like Episode 1 much cause it felt like our team was just background noise the whole time. Second episode was a bit better, but the new sidekick isn't landing for me yet. Lana and Archer had chemistry cause they were both very flawed people basically stumbling their way to almost success with a good back and forth. Their arrogance/cockiness kept in check by their character flaws and multiple fuck ups.

But its only 2 episodes in we'll see how it is going forward.

I spent almost 2 years of Unite and Fight rounds catching up on this series and managed to catch up just in time for the finale. Was it worth it? It was... ok I guess.
