Screen lock program

So, I just moved with my gf and 2 of her friends...and some of their friends are pretty fucking inconsiderate rude cunts. My PC is probably my prized possession in the apt, I dont exactly like when ppl go on it without my knowledge, and even then I'm skeptical about it with all the iframes n shit going on, I dont want my ff acct to get jeopardized because these morons dont know wtf theyre doing on the internet. About 2 weeks ago I was at work, they asked if they could go on, which I said no...I get home and I see a bunch of downloads, about a gig worth of music clearly dated to the time I wasnt home. 2 days ago, I was in the living room watching TV with them, one of them gets up, goes to my room, and plops down on my pc like she owns the place: starts downloading shit, checks her facebook, logs me out of msn and hops on hers, just flips on my cam (no nudes) and starts camming with ppl...all this without even asking me "can I use your PC". Yeah, fuck you? I've installed keylogger software, but I'm not content with that, because they can still go on and wind up compromising my acct.

I'm looking for some screenlock software that wont interfere with windower. All attempts I've failed so far lead to using a screensaver, or going to the logoff screen, but both of them cause windower to crash, with the fullscreen lost error. Does such a program exist that keeps the pc in a running state, but prevents mouse/keyboard interaction other to a password window?

I did some google searching, found a few different screen locking apps but all of them were apps that must be purchased, and the descriptions of how they locked the system sounded like they pretty much just used the windows lock function and just blocked any ways to bypass it.

If you absolutely must leave ffxi running when your not at the computer then I'm not sure what you can do, vista likes to crash windower anytime an event pops up (ctrl alt del; screenlock etc.) May be a good idea to get a security token.

I guess you could just create a restricted user for them to use, to at least minimize the damage, get noscript etc setup nice and tight so they can't do anything at all. Optional but you could always allow webcam use in exchange for nudes?

I am also having these types of problems with my cousin. I'm not so much worried about an FFXI account as I am about my computer's health/well-being in general.

I've tried to find programs that will screenlock but as someone has already said they want payment for it or it's simply not the type of program I want.

I really..hate inconsiderate/internet ignorant people. I feel your pain. :/ I've gone as far as unplugging my computer when I'm not around, a little excessive, but yeah. Every time she hops on it's to go to the usual music websites to download a GB worth of stupid shit or to go to the common hacker's breeding grounds.

So if anyone knows of a program, please help.

I believe thats one of the things that boot you out of ffxi, fullscreen error. I'll double check when I get out of salv

That would break windower.

I made a basic screen locking program in 10th grade to keep people from fucking with my stuff at school, I dont know whose bright idea it was to remove the lock computer option or why they thought it was a good idea... Made in VB.NET all it does is bring up a picture to the foreground every millisecond and disables ALT+F4 etc. You have to press a certain key sequence to bring up a password field.

The only downside would be CTRL+ALT+DEL is hardwired into windows, to work around that my program automatically used the windows lock (tsdiscon) before you could open task manager to close it. It would be really simple to code.

Alternatively you could use local group policies to remove the logoff, lock computer, and task manager options. In which case a first edition of the program I made would work beautifully.

Now you'll find out if they're inconsiderate on the level of "I'll just turn the PC off and back on then". So hopefully you have a login password as well.

Alternatively, forget locking your computer and get a door lock.

Well you either pick FFXI or having your computer messed with by a couple of bitches. It's become a habit for me to Windows + L whenever I leave my desk even at home.

You could always talk to your girlfriend or talk to the two girls... If that doesn't work start locking your computer and get them in the habit of thinking its locked then you can screen shot your lock screen and full screen the image whenever you leave the computer and exit when you get back. Just an idea.

I don't know if these with mess with XI or not, but there are usb 'keys' that can lock your computer when u remove it, and plugging it in signs u in automatically.

There are also ones that come in two pieces, one that goes in the usb and a part that goes on like a keychain or something. When you get a certain amount of feet away it will lock your computer for you, and sign you in when u come within a certain distance also.

Looks like that locking program you found should do the job for you.

However, if you want to live harmoniously with these ladies, you should really sit down and talk to them and lay out some ground rules about how it's not cool to go and touch your stuff without permission. Or, if you really want to be nice, tell them to pitch in a few hundred bucks and you'll get them a shitty laptop for them to use. Either way, I'd recommend you talk to them, because if they're not respecting your personal items it's going to happen with something else.
