Slow Startup

I recently built my computer and I'm having a problem with the start up. The parts for the build are here http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86931.

At the first screen it stalls for about 2 minutes and the motherboard display has a 75 as the post error code during the stall, which is called Detect HDD: IDE Device Detection. Then it starts up all normal after it displays the connected HDD for a second.

It happened before and after I updated my bios.

Anyone have a clue what I can do to fix it.

Do you have anything connected to the IDE bus? A CD/DVD drive perhaps? If so, do you have the jumpers set correctly? (Master) Try disconnecting it and see if it posts okay.

Do you have a spare IDE cable you can swap around with the one connected to your HDD? Worth trying with the bits above.

Hmm... hard drive is SATA - doesn't run off the IDE bus.

I'm guessing you have an IDE optical drive you reused from another machine hooked up in there? If you do, my guess is either the master/slave jumper or the connector position on drive cable. Chances are it's the cable since the jumpers are usually in an auto-detect position.
