So I guess that leaves Joyeuse/Justice /nin vs. Joyeuse/Sentinel (?) /blu or /pld. Reason I don't seem to care for /nin is I intended to let those adds blow up against my barfire. Looks like a PLD/RDM job now.
By the way, unless your add effect is close to/exceeding 410 (at 10% activation), wouldn't you do more damage with enspell II at capped 41?
Bombs take normal damage from fire. They just take half damage from every other element, they don't take any more fire damage than any other mob.
You have to leave enhancing gear on full time for en2, or it does nothing. 290~300+ enhancing en1 is often better than 256 en2, even with just single wield joy.By the way, unless your add effect is close to/exceeding 410 (at 10% activation), wouldn't you do more damage with enspell II at capped 41?
Nah, that's been a big annoyance with Enspell2s since their release.
256 enhancing = 17/hit, 34 enspell2
300 enhancing = 20/hit
1.5 * 20 = 30, still not going to favor enspell1 unless resist rate is also dependant on it(which has yet to be tested with decent controls)
What would be the point in using Amano + Bow when Soboro exists?
It's a combo favoured by people with a faulty brain.
I know that enspell II uses current enhancing skill, but items like hollow earring and fencer's ring add directly to the final damage and may cause you to favor enspell I, especially after accounting for the low starting damage on enspell II.
So for BQ:
256 enhancing -> 17/hit base enspell. Now add hollow earring with joyeuse (you may not want fencer's here).
Enspell I @ 301 casting skill: (20 + 3) x 1.5 = 34.5
Enspell II @ 301 casting skill: (17 x 2) + 3 = 37
With fencers, it'd be 42 damage per round either way, with Enspell II losing due to lower initial hits.
Still have Excal/Aegis and Carn/Ghorn. Always felt off-hand restrictions were too much. One-handed bonuses tend to be smaller than two-handed bonuses.
SE loves PLD, SAM, and BRD.
This is somehow news?
I'm a little rusty on my math and posting from my phone, but with Joy if your En2 is > 1.5x your En1? With Composure up that'll decrease the % of swings done below full En2 damage. I think I hit 23 on En1 and 37 on En2, En2 should still win out there, correct?
