I'm a little rusty on my math and posting from my phone, but with Joy if your En2 is > 1.5x your En1? With Composure up that'll decrease the % of swings done below full En2 damage. I think I hit 23 on En1 and 37 on En2, En2 should still win out there, correct?

Depends on if en2 macc is determined on strike, or on cast. Also composuring your en is highly unlikely for bq, which is going to make it very close if its macc is determine at cast.

I don't see what would really keep you from popping it on every 7:30~ for a buff cycle, but was also just curious in general outside of BQ.

Right now I pretty much keep to:

Single-wield > En2
Dual-wield with ESword + no multihit > En2
Dual-wield without ESword or w/ multihit > En1

... Avesta never posted his own videos on YouTube, he posted them on zoome and someone else took them from there and YouTube'd them. Just stop arguing when it's clear you really don't know what you're on about at least 80% of the time.

Zoome was launched in the beginning of 2007 and only became popular after stage6 closed down in 2008. If you read his website Avesta specfically mentioned he stopped posting zip file on his website and switched to Zoome in 2008 (from what I can gather with my broken japanese). Prior to this, there may be other webiste hosting his videos but the only source I know are filefront and youtube. (I am not sure if he ever used Stage6 but I know the other taru RDM who soloed Diabolos did)

Also if you read his solo timeline, Avesta posted videos for Hakutaku (7/25) and Big Bomb (9/24) in 2006, following that:
2006/10/25 Cactrot Rapido - he only did this fight after rapido has been proven RDM soloable by other player
2007/02/10 LoO - claiming LoO is much easier after SE removed Kraken club from the treasure pool and added it to BCNM on 2006/12/20

After Seiryu he also did SCNMs (Aug) and Suzaku (Nov) in 2008. If we were to follow the post date on zoome, Avesta appeared to be inactive between March 2007-Aug 2008 until SE added SCNM in March 2008. Doesn't make any sense since he was clearly working on the remaining sky NM back in March 2007. One possible explanation is he already defeated Suzaku but didn't release the information on Zoome sooner until it became popular among JP users in 2008 (which explains why he said "Suzaku solo video was added" in his suzy post) or simply because it took him over a year to gather pop set and defeat Suzy. Either way, Suzaku is the last NM of its kind (Firaga III caster) and the only one left for him to attempt after Hakutaku and Big Bomb, he probably have developed some basic ideas for Suzy fight based on his successful Hakutaku and Big Bomb attempt since he specifically mentioned suzy's firaga III hits harder than hakutaku and BB in his post.

Ok I will give you this since I didn't know Avesta has soloed Ix'aern until I found his webseit after reading this thread. Just want to mention if he's on RDM fighting Aerns chances are he is probably waiting for Ix'drk repop (since the poster specifically mentioned palace), farming HQ organs on BLM should be safer and more efficient.

On a side note, I just finished reading Avesta's website and found out he actually put 5 levels in earth instead of ice magic accuracy. SE only raised magic skill merit cap to 16 in 2007, which could potentially explain why he was struggling to land Bind on Zip if he went for 4/4 enfeebling/elemental skill build. Also in his opinion, paralyze II is a waset of MP from solo point of view.

Taruking, just fyi, haku is nothing like suzy. Firaga3 does not make them similar. One is a kited fight that triple attacks repeatedly, but grav+bind both work, and the other moves fast and can't be bound/grav.

Actually Suzy is rather susceptible to Gravity, but you can't rely on it for long obviously. Best saved for Chainspell.

He changed from 5 ice to 5 earth in 2008. It was so he could do Suzaku comfortably. Due to the importance of bind in earlier solos, I assure you he had ice merits, and they were reflected on his site. Whether he had capped merits a few months after they were introduced for the 7/05 Zip solo... is for you to guess.

Where did you get those dates? They're not on youtube; they're not on filefront. They're all a little off. Some match the dates I posted to filefront, but I always took at least a day to post them.

Avesta used ADSL to host all his pre-2008 videos, but people found them impossible to download. He didn't touch filefront or youtube.

Never tried BB solo as Nin, but the first thing I'd likely try is Nin/Sch utilizing primarily dark arts and hopping into a Pluto's staff for drain and aspirs (There's some +drk skill avail for nin, enough imo), using sublimation, cures, regen II and dispel as necessary. Could even sleep adds if you had to!

Someone mentioned nin/rdm barfire being efficient for resisting his -ga 3. GL with that with your 120 enhancing or w/e.

It may or may not have been asked throughout the thread but here it is: If I were to dual-box either a RDM or WHM (absolutley horrible gear, but I could always put my RDM gear on that character), with a THF or NIN (th4, good nin gear, both with eva sets) which would be the most efficient and why?

RDM has more endurance, better barfira, and stronger enfeebles. BB is IT+; you need enfeeble gear.
