new car registration fees?

Buying my fist car from a dealer here soon.(only have ever bought from individuals). but i was wondering if anyone knew how much i would need to expect to pay for title and registration fees. i live in ky so i know sales tax is 6% but beyond that i dont know what to expect.

If taxes aren't paid up, you'll have to pay them up until your birthday at a pro-rated rate. After that, you'll pay them annually the month of your birth.

in Minnesota it's only about $50.

beware though that more and more dealerships are witholding titles to cars for "additional fees" which were not initially agreed upon. When I bought a car last year the dealership I purchased from withheld my title stating I did not make a $500 "down payment" which was never discussed but snuck into a different form. It was against the law for them to withhold my title so I contacted the attorney general (who said this type of thing happens all the time) and after a long process they sent me a check in the mail for $46 dollars and I was granted a conditional title for my car. So be extremely careful with your documentation - I normally have a really good sense for this type of thing and read everything, but somehow this one slipped through.

i took it for a test drive on Saturday. it rides like a dream. leather heated seats and a very well designed interior. plus it has enuf power under the hood and still gets good gas mileage. this version of the 300 has the 3.5 liter v6 which is plenty power under the hood for me. any more is just over kill imo

have you ever driven a v8? or just plain higher horsepower car? Not saying this car isn't fine and nice. But once you go up, it's disappointing when you drive something with less HP

yeah i have driven v8 and straight 8 and some v10 vehicles. i just think its over kill and kills the fuel economy.

the tax is what really gets you. my first car cost a grand extra cause of sales tax, 8% fuuuuuuuuuu

gg yeah its 6% here in kentucky but i dont know if thats added on to the loan or am i gonna have to pay it at the county clerks office
