Don't get me wrong, you are right it is hard, but when its "easy" your body is usually horny, and horny teens is never a good combo.

I thought incidents of teen pregnancy were dropping in North America?

United States has highest teen pregnancy rate in the developed world but it is decreasing. Canada has a steady decline.

I know that teens get pregnant, I just meant that it was often used as a scare factor in those old after school specials in the late 80s and early 90s. I know it scared me. I'm still scared. I personally never understood these 15-17 year old girls who desparately want to have a baby. I'm almost 34 and think it would be horrifying to have a baby at my tender age.

I don't believe there is any sperm in pre-cum. That's just a myth.

That is something that seems to still be debated about, and not worth the risk to assume it doesn't imo.

The National Center for Biotechnology Information has a study, originally conducted for HIV tests, that concludes there is no sperm in precum unless it is leftover sperm from a previous ejaculation, which can almost always be prevented by urinating between sessions since the acidic qualities of urine will sterilize any leftovers. However, even though this study is the one most people use to qualify their point, this study was not originally for this purpose, and the sample size is extremely small. See for yourself here. Until a larger study is conducted, it still remains to be 'better safe than sorry.'

Depends on the girl. Some latch on no matter what. I have a friend who has 6 children, and has had 2 miscarriages on top of that, and both her and her partner tried most methods of BC (I think the only exemption was an IUD) at some point or another, with the end result still being the same. I will say that tends to be a minority, at least from my experience communicating with friends who discuss these things.

Seriously though, what I can't wait for is reversible male contraception, especially if it doesn't involve minor surgery. I want some control over the matter myself.
I can also dream that it'd drive a number of Maury Povich shows off the air.

If they manage to cure HIV and herpes as well, it'd be awesome to see that part of the 70's happen again.

Try Nuvaring for birth control, seriously. I know a lot of women will feel "weird" about putting something in their vagina, but you don't feel it, at all. You can take it out for up to 3 hours, but my boyfriend of the time never complained. He "felt" it, but it didn't detract from anything. It has a lower dose of hormones than what you'd be getting in the pill, and I've had no side effects.

In PA there's a program called Select Plan for Women that covers most, if not all ob-gyn related costs. It covered Nuvaring and my monthly visits, though my insurance now doesn't cover it at all, and it has an upfront cost of $70, so I ask my ob-gyn if he has any samples available to give me during my visits. I've also called and gotten samples between visits when I haven't gotten enough to last me till my next appointment.

If you regularly visit an ob-gyn, always ask for samples. They usually have a ton, my old regular doctor often had some birth control samples as well. I need birth control, not for sex reasons, but because I have bad periods, terrible cramps, and at high risk for endometriosis (if it's not already present.) Since being on Nuvaring, periods have been lighter and I've just felt better.
