Got asked if I was using turbo after a ranked match, guess I should take that as a sign I'm getting my timing back for this godawful game
edit: Hate on Santhra if you want but that Kara Demon he just pulled was bad-fucking-ass

What happening in top 8? At a fantasy draft.
Dieminion just took it over Arturo in GF 3-0.
dieminion just beat art in grand finals. art beat sanford in losers with seth. was cheering for art the whole time even tho hes ass. was ggs from everybody.
Too bad Dieminion isn't going to SBO. He'd represent well even though he plays Guile lol.
I'd agree with Art on that. As great as the current crop of Capcom fighters have been for reinvigorating the fighting game scene, they're fucking awful games. MvC is broken as all fuck, SF is just... ugh. Super was acceptable but AE is just whack as fuck
I disagree, Super was boring as hell and encouraged turtle characters. Say what you want about AE but at least it's exciting to watch, same with MvC3. Yeah they may have broken characters but that didn't stop MvC2 from dominating the fighting game scene for years.
True, but half the problem is that modern games are patchable. MvC2, SF3, etc all have a bunch of completely retarded shit in them, but it's an accepted fact of the game. Having games constantly revised and changed is just annoying because something that was an effective strategy 2 months ago will no longer work. What worked in SF3 10 years ago will still work today, but because Capcom decides something isn't working right (let's go with Gief's EX green hand causing a knockdown), they change it and fuck up the mechanics established there.
And honestly, unless both players are using extreme rushdown characters, every version of SF4 is a fucking turtlefest. I know if I get a life lead on someone I'm probably just going to stand back and lame it up, because the engine makes it so easy
I'd prefer a company keep striving to improve balance, plus it's not like the entire engine changes, you just may need to change your main combos, if anything it should keep things fresh. When BB:CS changed to CSII my top 3 bnb combos for Ragna were patched clean out the game. Having to re-learn the character was like getting a brand new game almost. Putting out an unbalanced game and just leaving it like that is a load of crap IMO, and getting a game extremely close to balanced on the first attempt is damn near impossible.
Arturo is just a salty little bitch now that his characters are bad. Learn how to fucking adapt or quit. Seriously. Just because a game doesn't cater to his playstyle he wants to cry. He's ass in marvel because he can't open people up, he's ass in SF4 because of the same reason.
Being bad doesn't make a game bad.
3S was one of the most imba games ever made. parrying was it's only saving grace, which added limitless depth but that's about it.
the last 4 evo top 8's were all chun chun chun chun chun chun yun.
i'll take balance over that bullshit any day of the week and twice on humpday
But it's a double standard in that regard. If something is broken people expect it to be patched, but then they bitch when their favorite character gets something that was effective removed. You can't have it both ways but the FGC (and not just them, the SC2 community for instance is the same way) wants both. They want the broken shit that's beating them to be patched but then they bitch when their broken shit is patched. Back when MvC2, SF3, or even games like brood war were around if something was broken either everyone used it, or someone found something else just as broken to beat it. Now people just claim OP when something beats them and then when it gets patched turn around and say "they are patching the game too much, why can't they just let things play out like they used to". It's just the times we live in and I would hate to be a game company right now. That being said I think capcom has actually done a pretty good job balancing now compared to some of the stuff they've done in the past, yet they get more shit than ever.
EDIT: I guess that was just kind of a rant. My main point is that people need to chill the fuck out with the balance whining and broken whining and such and just learn to roll with whatever comes instead of hoping for the game companies so get things exactly how they want it. Loser's (in this case Art) make excuses, Winners find ways to win.
Yeah but Blazblue is awful.
Since Arc System Works finally got the rights to Guilty Gear back hopefully they can get back to making good fighting games again. I adore the GG series but Blazblue is just ugh.
And yeah, I know Art is just bitching because he can't adjust to changes. But say what you will about Tekken, but Tekken 6 hasn't needed balance adjustments and it's stayed a solid tournament game since release.
Edit: About Gief, it was a good change but it's just one of these things that didn't really have any reason to be changed, just felt like a random adjustment they thought up out of the blue. Let's go with Akuma getting +2F recovery on his throw then. Why?
why not? you think his vortex is finished because of 2 frames? it's just not piss poor easy anymore. gief mix up was too easy after a knock down, so they took it away and gave him an SPD that he can use in footsies and he's way better off now.
Because as is he has a super simple safe jump setup off it. 2 extra frames is enough to kill that setup.
Nearly every hit Akuma lands up close leads straight into his vortex, and for a majority of the cast the only option against it is to hope you block right. That's all fine and dandy when it's all your character has (see: Ibuki) but for a character that's as solid from mid/fullscreen as Akuma it makes no sense.
Don't get me wrong, as much I honestly dislike the game, I'll still be playing it since there's really no other options for good online play while I'm at home since T6 and MvC have such awful fucking netcode.
In unrelated news, Yeb is playing Gen again, he just worked me pretty good, though I almost stole a round of him ):
Evo top 8 was like 5 Bobs, but it took a few years for things to progress to that point. Once a game has been out for a few years it's going to be tier whored into oblivion, except of course for AE which took about 1 week.
oh thats right because evo top 8 had 2 yun 2 vipers 2 fei 1 gief and 1 akuma which were all 1 week mains
