I was having the same issues with Welt the other day and I've done the same as you. For the most part, I have a decent connection with people but sometimes it's unbearable for the other person or for myself.
Just horrible playing online in general though, I feel for all you dudes with no local scene.

If I get the chance, I'll get a copy of the PC version and see if it fares better.

on PC should be easy mode.
Fraps > video editing program (i use AVS Video editor go on youtube for guides for cracks) > what ever the hell you like.

Well my problem is that Fraps automatically brings the game down to 50FPS, which slow it down considerably. I tried lowering settings of the game but it didn't change anything, 60FPS > 50.

Edit: Might help if I turn vsync off, let's see. Nope, still bringing it down to 50 :<

Any screen recording software will eat a ton of resources. You could try something other than FRAPS but the results will probably be the same thing. Only thing you can do is try lowering graphics settings on the game.

Well, the only time Fraps doesn't kill the framerate is when I'm in the actual graphic settings. As soon as I go back to the menu screen, it goes down to 50. That's with everything on off/low.

Been a very long time, how do you actually start the recording without using a hotkey?

Also, I tried with and without "lock framerate", still drops it to 45-50.

If I click on 30FPS or up to 50FPS, it will lock to the set number. If I go over 50, it will lock it to 53~.

Edit: ok, noob.jpg. I get 40FPS while recording, which is normal, but with this method it still shows 60FPS on the actual video, which is perfect. Thanks.
