I proclaim the end of the world

So that crazy Mehmet Ali Agca (the man who tried to kill Pope John Paul II in 1981) was released from prison today and set about proclaiming the end of the world and various other gems of wisdom to the throng that greeted him.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...s-century.html

Apparantly the only reason he wasn't senenced to death was because the Pope specifically asked for him to be spared. Says a whole bunch about the Pope, and surely if Gods sending gunman after the Pope he was up to no good in some way anyway.

    Crazy man, or craziest man?

To be fair, Jesus is claimed to be the Messiah, God's son, and sometimes even God. So I don't think him switching is all that out there if he really is

Agca claims that he has been offered multi-million pound book, film and documentary deals in which he will divulge whether he was hired as a hit man by Bulgarian or Soviet intelligence

Just goes to show, crime does pay, but you gotta do it BIG!

according to said followers, he did say so himself

we've been over this before, random person: "why should I believe in God if I can't see him?" Jesus: "what are you talking about you're looking at me right now" is one of the many examples

    spoilered for boring topic discussion...
    Spoiler: show

You do realise that the Catholic church completely controlled not only the translations but the readings of the Bible until the reformations in the early 1500s, with the famous Martin Luther incident. Before that time the Bible was only available in the Latin Vulgate, which was copied throughout the dark ages (and incidentally went through many revisions, and some which included notes, others which excluded parts). It was at the time of Martin Luther when the Bible was first translated into texts besides the original text and the Latin that was translated and transcribed during the dark ages... First German, then into Dutch from that German translation, and into English and French around the same time... There were many accusations of those early translations of people accusing the translators of changing things to suit their intentions (as many of the translations were through Protestants who had broken from the Catholic church during the Martin Luther fallout).

The fact of the matter is that there were differences of opinion on the divinity of Christ even amongst the early Christians, so much so, that Emperor Constantine was forced to hold a vote of the divinity of Jesus Christ at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, in order to unite the rule of Rome.

As to the end of the world, hmmm.
Sinbad is going to be on TV again, but it isn't his own show, I'm not sure how to read that.
