Coakley assumed she could win with no effort and is facing the consequences. Almost all of the ads I've seen on tv for her have been trying too hard to make Brown sound like he eats babies, while his have actually tried to show why he wants you to vote for him instead of not voting for a baby-eater.

Polls were pretty busy I guess, should be interesting to see how it all turns out. And yes, I voted for Brown, gogo baby-eater!
Hey Elly! <3 I gotta ask are you and Smed goin to PAX East in March? I'm probably gonna be attending the weekend days & meeting up with a few people from who-knows-where.. and who knows I might dress up for this one LOL

You pretty much got it right on - Coakley plain blew this race on her own by being complacent and thinking she could sleepwalk into the Senate on a sympathy vote for Ted Kennedy. And then when she finally figured out it wasn't gonna happen it was too late and she pulled the desperation move with the nonstop garbage ads. She earned this loss for herself. Shit I wouldn't have voted for her!

    Spoiler: show
(I wouldn't have voted for Brown either, I'd probably do the super-wacky thing and vote for Mr. Name Recognition!)

Well done, Scott Brown. You won on a completely vapid campaign where you ran away from your base and were too afraid to say the word "republican". And nobody held your feet to the fire.

Really unsurprised by this turnout. Can we finally put to rest the stupid meme of "liberal media bias"?

But go ahead and do so. Conservatives are going to spin themselves silly over the pro-choice candidate they managed to elect.

I find the game much more fascinating than the outcomes. I'm happy for the republicans, and think they should have the night. Swiping Ted Kennedy's seat is a valuable prize.

So, since Brown won, the GOP now has won the Presidency.

Don't you mean "the only state that has something to lose from the health care bill getting passed"?

what happens when some form of the bill passes and the republicans can't blame it on a filabuster proof majority? This takes away the one thing the republican party NEEDS - someone to blame!

I can cite you a poll if you'd like.

People of MA like their health care coverage, which includes public subsidies.

    This.

MA stood primed to be fucked in the ass by the new healthcare bill. I'm not happy about this, but if it means the bill wont pass I sure as shit am not upset.

Better yet, what happens when the Dems start bringing bills to the floor deliberately to get Republicans voting on the record? In an election year..

Let's say ya'll are right and it is a wonderful idea.

Most Americans DON'T want it. So why force it down our throats?

Are we just not smart enough to understand?

you give those short bus riding fucktards way too much credit.

Essentially. Most Americans also believe that angels exist, jesus will have a second coming in their life time and that evolution is a load of shit.

...Either MA is a microcosm of America (they hate their public health care!) or it isn't (they love public health care, but it's not what America wants!).

    Can't have it both ways.
