I have never played a tales game, and I'm bored. Which should I try first?

Tales of Phantasia

Well, if you ever want to play Phantasia, it's where you should start.

Phantasia and Destiny are good games but they do not compare to the later games in the series.
I'd say that Tales of Eternia is actually the best starting point nowadays, Phantasia and Destiny have many flaws that were acceptable back in the day but I think Eternia is as far back as you can go and still be acceptable by today's standards.

(Tales of Eternia is called Tales of Destiny II in the US so you might also find it by that name)

kk I think I'll try eternia then cause I dun wanna start a game for like 5 minutes, stop, and not bother with the rest of the series.

Also, if you don't want to ragequit, don't START the game on hard.
You can change the battle mode to hard later but, the first boss is a major pain in the ass on hard mode, trust me.

I have a thing for starting at the beginning of series. Eternia is a good starting point.
Is Tales of Hearts getting ported/is there a translation?
