It's pretty old. It's the best/first DX11 benchmark that we have. If you actually have a DX11 card, go through it and flicker tessellation on/off, its mighty impressive and something I hope FFXIV will be built for (even though they said its mostly DX9, this could still be supported).

My results pre-video card update Used DX11 even though my card doesn't support it lol. Dunno why you guys keep running them at such low resolutions, do you actually game like that?

For your specs its about right I guess. For the benchmark its nothing special seeing as you ran it on such a low res.

And just so people don't keep asking, here's the best you could be hoping for on a single GPU with max everything (1920x1200) + dx11 tesselation. (may only be 4x AA, I don't recall and don't feel like looking it up):

Even if it doesn't initially have it, they could add support for it down the line. Battleforge added DX11 support a while after coming out, both WoW an Aion have gone through visual upgrades, etc.

They probably will considering how much their new engine focuses on graphics and what DX11 can do.

No one knows the exact requirements for FFXIV yet which is why I asked if I'm missing something because these benchmarks can be way off of how powerful FFXIV is considering FFXIV and even FFXI are built from the ground up with their own engine that no one elses use.

I'm pretty sure the OP is talking about FFXIV and just forgot the 'V' since yeah there are FFXI benchmarks available.

set your AA off and your Anis to 16x use DX10 and not 11 i bet you get a way better score

    Um, am i missing something?

I am not to informed about benchmarks. How is this benchmark providing any pertinant information about how your pc will handle ffxiv at all?

You expect too much out of the FFXIV forum. I could post a dirty limerick in this thread and nobody would notice it because they're too busy gazing at their own benchmark scores.

As far as I can tell, it's just a benchmark that's visually comparable to what we'll see in XIV. The wildcard is that XIV will be using a proprietary engine, which could make a significant difference or make very little difference in performance results. In any case, it's a good benchmark to see what tessellation can do and how it'll affect performance, and it's something that will probably be implemented in XIV.

Pretty realistic to get some gaudy numbers w/ DX10 and no AA if you have a decent setup. Though obviously take submissions with a grain of salt as people are just copy/pasting(and results are a simple .html easily edited even if screenshotted).

The main feature of the benchmark is tessellation, which you can't utilize if you dont have a DX11 card(Ati 5800+ only atm). If you don't know what tessellation is:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3m9rPltA_s

That's not a trick, and is all done via hardware by simply flipping a switch. In the above benchmark, this is most evident in the cobblestones on the pathway. If you dont have a Dx11 card, like the guy with the 295, the results will still say everything is 'enabled' despite it not being active, which is deceiving.

See the image I posted on the first page for what you can expect from a top-end single-GPU rig(stock speeds) with everything enabled.

[edit]For comparison sake to the guy posting 120+ FPS, the GF100 in the image would post better results(around +40%) than his card despite only being a single GPU.
