Anyone use Adium at College / Uni?

Heya guys i recently downloaded Adium for my mac, at uni. However, everytime i add an account it gets stuck at "authenticating 75%". I tried through proxies and enabled the ports for my uni but even then it still doesn't work.

Does anyone know a solution?

never had a problem with adium using various uni networks, probably be best to go to http://trac.adium.im/

Couple things - could be they have instant messaging filtered, so even though you've unblocked whatever ports necessary, they'll be filtering the data on another level.

Also, without knowing what service you're trying to access, it's difficult to say whether the problem lies with your uni's network or the IM network you're trying to access. I'd say try an alternate service, to make sure.

Failing all that, ask a flatmate/classmate if they have problems connecting, it's likely if they can't connect then it's blocked. To get around that you'll probably need to SSH tunnel or VPN to get around the restrictions.
