This was a good episode imo, I don't understand people rage. The "light" was a bit too magical to my liking (I would have prefered something more simple), but that's not really important at this point. It's like everytime the special effect team is involved in a scene, it will automatically look bad.
Did they answer any questions? Maybe not directly, but it still shaping the island considerably for the finale. We know there is nothing "holy" about the guardian's role (stealing children, killing the mother), we know the loop has been going on since forever (she was definitively not the first person to drink in that half empty bottle), we know there is a bigger evil entity than MiB (the ghost lured him to the evil side), we know every human has a bit of good and evil inside them (we already did I guess), etc...
Pesonally, I'm satisfied with this until the finale. I have a better idea of what's going on and where it's going
Anway, If I had to make one complaint, it would be season 5. The time travel twist was completely uneeded in retrospective, because it brought nothing but useless complexity. Desmond's mind travel would have been more than enough to create two differents timeline, and we wouldn't be stuck with a convoluted story right now.
