Man Richard did get slammed hard as hell
What a great episode. I also thought the dialogue was really well done in this one as well. The "it's just chalk on a wall" line is going down as an all-time favorite, as well as kid Jacob asking for his ashes back because they were his lol.
Fucking epic non-spoiler copypasta:
This was such a nice episode. It felt so much different than last week's in terms of writing and dialogue. Jacob's talk of the hidden cave of light was actually believable here, whereas last week it felt contrived and fake. It astounds me how there could be such a disparity in writing quality this late in the game. But maybe this perceived difference in quality is due to the internet corrupting my thoughts about last week's episode.I'm pretty sure that Miles said that his dad is in charge of the concert or some such. Pierre had been on the island, even in the alt timeline.
The point of the Dharma initiative all along was building up towards this concert, in which the amps will be powered by magical Island electromagnetism. This means it will rock harder than any concert has ever rocked before, but that's not the concert's true purpose.
Meanwhile, on the Island, Jack sends MIB through the light tunnel, and MIB gets shot out the other end: in the middle of the concert. Desmond, due to his unique properties, is the only one capable of withstanding the sheer power of the electromagnetism slash rock and roll, so he pulls MIB right up next to the amp.
The music weakens MIB, (he's weak to music, hence the sonic fences) but it's not enough. So all the characters from all the seasons, here at the concert, pick up instruments and rock out with Driveshaft, until it sufficiently weakens MIB. Jack and alt-Locke lift their guitars into the air, and beat MIB to death together.
Faraday plays us out on the piano.
L O S T
Did anyone else get emotional when Jacob asked Jack, "Is that a question?" Jack's been insecure in his beliefs since the end of season 3, and to now see the once unshakable man of science become a leader in blind faith was pretty sweet.
MIB should of cut zoe some slack.
I don't read spoilers on other sites or any of that shit, but I felt weird about Jack just all of the sudden being the next protector of the island.
Something tells me he dies in the finale, and KATE becomes the protector
just my $.02
why don't you put Mosleys Round 2 in your sig? those were the best punches of the fight..
It was somewhat obvious Jack would eventually replace Jacob for a while now, but when he stood up and told Jacob would do it, it still felt great.
Wasn't really expecting this episode to provide a ton of answers, since that is what Sunday should be for, but I still greatly enjoyed this week's episode, and of course, can't wait for Sunday. Probably going to end up watching their whole Lost block of TV for however many hours it is lasting (including Jimmy Kimmel, even though I hate him).
Sequentially, it can't be one of the four at Jacob's campfire. It can't be Ben or Locke, for obvious reasons. Who else is still alive whose whereabouts are unaccounted for during the afternoon / evening of Jacob's campfire?
Miles seems like the obvious answer. It could also be that it they deliberately inserted the scene out of chronological sequence, skipping ahead a bit so that Locke & Ben arrived at the well after Jack & Co, basically for dramatic effect. That would be kind of cheap, though, and hopefully they didn't do that.
Other possibilities, all of which seem pretty unlikely to me.
-- Lapidus drifted ashore alive and found the well.
-- Richard is still alive and found the well.
-- Widmore and Zoe found him prior to going to the Dharma cabins. Perhaps they had a tracking device in him. Why they would have split up afterwards, I don't know.
-- Jacob. If Jack & co. can see him now, so could Desmond.
-- Daniel Faraday, in some weird time skipping thing from last season. He shows up because Desmond is his constant.
Episode was great overall, but ^ was kind of annoying.Where is Claire? Did Locke just leave her on the dock?
No idea how I forgot about this, that is a great question. =/
Talking about Desmond being a fail safe somewhat leads me to believe all of the people on the island might die, and the sideways universe people will have to stop Locke. Not quite sure how yet, but the other universe has to have some role in all of this with Desmond gathering them all.
I LOVE BENNNNNNNNNN ^__________________^
Theres no way lapidus is dead.

Miles need more screentime, but I'm repeating myself. I would take a spin off with him as the main character.
Anyway, this episode was amazing. I didn't hate last week like everyone, but this one was much better at setting up the finale.
Who got Desmond out of the well... (Finale Spoiler)
Spoiler: show
I enjoyed today's episode, the island / sideways storylines were both interesting and there were a lot of OMG moments! Is Richard ok? Where did Miles go? Where's Lapidus!!?
Spoke to my grandparents on Skype yesterday and we started talking about LOST, they really didn't like the 'Across The Sea' episode. They also seem to think the sideways reality is a 'dream' lol. I tried to explain to them that it wasn't but to no avail. xD
Finale Sneak Peek 1

Found this pretty funny ^^ (No spoilers)

I think that there was only ever one candidate from the beginning, and that was Jack. The others were just there to help Jack get to the point where he was ready to take over from Jacob. I knew back when they started talking about someone protecting the island that it would end up being Jack. I think that's why the fireside chat was so quick.
This penultimate episode was awesome. I was very pleased with it, especially after the clunkers this season. Way too many commercials though. Makes me wonder if ABC extended the play time of the finale to 2.5 hours just to add in more commercials, not more show.
