Perfect ending, the island being purgatory was one of the biggest original theories in season 1, having the flash sideways being purgatory works is an awesome reference to the feel of the series early on.

Or maybe they were all dead before the plane incident (hence why the plane was empty at the end) and it sort of shuttled them to this make believe island so they can find one another? fuck if I know. that's the first 'episode' I've ever partially watched.

The alternate reality takes place after everyone in the real world died. Even Hurley and Ben were dead at that point because they can remember being #1 and #2.

It was their Heaven and apparently Micheal didn't make it. He's one of the souls that was stuck on the island and couldn't pass on to Heaven.

Still trying to soak everything in. I can say though, I have never had so many emotions in a television episode ever. May not please everyone, but I am leaving this great show with a happy, satisfied feeling.

I've not watched this since season three or so, but I watched the recap/interviews beforehand and then the finale and the episode (reunions in particular) was amazingly touching. Brilliant ending as well.

6 years I have watched lost and loved every minute of it, this ending made me cry tears of happiness. I'm going to miss lost so much.

The shots at the end had to just be taken of the set after shooting first few episodes, cause they never really spent much time at that set, and obviously had to tear it down.

Fucking loved this episode. For that last 5 minutes I held it together pretty well until Vincent laid down next to Jack and I lost my shit. I'm glad I'm the only one in my house or else I would have gotten some pretty weird looks from family members who don't get what they are watching.

Ben said he had some things to work out still. I don't think the fact Michael wasn't at the church is any indication, he might just not be ready to move on from the alt-world yet

The ending was just like the beginning. Jack closed his eyes instead of opening them. And instead of him running across the island saving everyone, there was no one left to save. He could finally rest.

Jack saw Kate, Sawyer, etc leaving....It wasn't another plane crash. At the end there just set photos from the Pilot to bring it full circle.

I think Ben still had to to work to deal with his sins, such as letting his adopted daughter die. So he is going to spend some more time with her in alt-world.
