I'm prolly missing something here but wasn't the darkness that they said Sayid had was regarding to him being dipped into that water spring being similar to when Ben was as well as a child when injured? Think they said something about he wouldn't be the same after that, not sure if they mentioned darkness

In season 3 when they rescue Karl from Room 23, there's a backwards message playing in the music. It says,

"Only fools are enslaved by time and space."

Which is an anagram for

"bones of Nadlers may lay lost deep in cave"

Bernard's last name is Nadler and Carlton Cuse said that in that episode there is an anagram Easter Egg that explains more about the bodies of Adam and Eve.

My theory about their death:

During the time skips in Season 5 they never caught the final jump because they were so far separated from the group and were forced to live out their lives from 1977 on the island. I'm assuming the white and black rocks were an attempt to identify themselves to the Losties that will be landing in the future.

I would disagree with this in part if only because Jacob's pad at the statue is all about his weaving which see just starting in 18th century, and finished when Flocke kills him. To me weaving is meant as a metaphor for the fates loom in Greek Mythology. But really both Jacob/Esau have pushed people towards their 'destiny' by giving the illusion of free will so to a degree I dont think their distinction is based on that.

I think its more about what their view on what humanity wants to do with the island. Jacob sees the corruption brought by black rock, us army, dharma, etc. as inevitable but that in the end its all building towards humanity being able to use the islands unique powers for good/nonselfish purposes whereas Esau sees humanity never being able to get away from their issues. But really I agree with Darlton at least in part because all of our theories may be partially correct but are missing out certain key pieces that are probably the most important variables in any theorycrafting.

But to finish his weaving could also mean he is done writting people future, and is ready to let them make the decission.

I made the analogy with Xeno, because something like this was discussed in the game about the hyprocrisis of "letting people choose" when you have so much power over their future. I think it's something similar with jacob, because he could control everyone if he wanted, yet he is doing the bare minimum and always leave the choice to people. The biggest example is when he gave Ben the choice to kill him or not.

Very interesting to see Ethan, didn't his parents meet on the island? Great episode, disappointed that we got no Flocke but was expected, after the premire they got their pacing back to normal. Just hope its not like last season where they kept the most interesting plot (Locke and Ben) to the minimum.

Ethan stuff seems to be more fate vs choice stuff. Clearly some of these characters were intended to meet regardless of whether or not the plane crashed/island existed.

I know Ethan's last name should be Goodspeed (Because of Horace) but why was he known as Ethan Rom before? Maybe he was given the name Rom by the others so he wouldn't think of his family after the purge killed them or something? =/

Claire has been 'claimed' by the darkness? Does this mean she is a pawn that MIB can manipulate now? She seems just like Rousseau was after she lost her baby and killed her infected colleagues. I wonder if Rousseau had been claimed too and that's why the others never helped her and just took Alex?

For some reason, I don't think Christian is just another form of MIB. Why help Locke get off the island to bring people back? If he needed them there to aid his plan of going home, then he could have easily morphed into smoky and destroy the helicopter that flew them off the island in the first place. =/ I'm guessing there's more to Christians presence than just MIB used his body.

Can we spoiler the "producers/writers said" kind of stuff? It kind of ruins any mystery that exists when you outright say someone with credibility said something specific to something we as viewers do not yet know

I didn't spoiler it because they were freakin' on Kimmel and they were not spoiling their own show (on the same network that runs their show too at that). They didn't reveal anything but saying the initial theory of Sayid = Jacob wasn't right, but they made it clear something happened to him, but wouldn't say what. Hardly spoiling a thing.

In all seriousness though, main answer we got is that there is some "sickness" and it is likely connected to Smokey in some way. It appears Sayid now has it and Claire does as well.

Now how in the hell this is actually known as fact is beyond me at this point.
