I had 6 relics and was about 1/2 way to the Burtgang. Funny thing was I moved all my currency for the burt to my main account because I thought it would be safer there.

Happy anniversary fellow banned players. It's odd, doesn't feel like a year has passed already. How many people swore up and down that they were done with FFXI only to start playing again? I'm happy to say I've managed to avoid starting back up again, with the small caveat, I recently was fortunate enough to help Apathy kill a PW. Something we didn't have the opportunity to do in NiN before the bannings. I was expecting an epic struggle, but Apathy made the fight look easy, it was almost a little anticlimactic. For those that remained with FFXI, do you regret your decision a year later? For those that left what did you accomplish in your newly acquired free time?

How many people quit I wonder because their friends / shells got whacked by the bannings? I know myself, and 2 friends, 5 accounts between us quit after a few months. I miss playing with friends more than anything.

A good chunk of my shell quit between losing our core members and a new leader that ran us into the ground.

No one from my server was even banned. So it had no effect whatsoever, other than a good BG read.

Id say the permabannings did more damage than they were meant to help not only did it make the game more stale cos it rid many servers of motivated players but more quit as their friends were gone and many linkshells were damaged by the loss of core members. Personally i blame SE for making the drop rate so craptacular for salvage and for not noticing this for so long. At most they shouldve stripped the gear and temp banned, perma bans are inly good for botters and gilsellers. Ended up quitting ffxi in part due to it goin stake in part due to the bannings.
