ill give you a rundown, its not as difficult as it used to be so it makes it easy to pick back up. the new LFG heroic system makes it insanely easy to get badges for gear and once you've geared up a decent amount via that and done a few trial of the crusader 10/25 raids you will be good to do icecrown citadel 10/25. although 25 pugs are pretty difficult to come by, because none can really get past the 4th boss. the next wings are pretty brutal for a random group.
in other words, its easy to pick up and put back down if youre looking for moderation. i dont think they made the game worse by casualizing(lol) the game but people still bitch and moan about it.

but yeah lets be honest, they are fagging it up hardcore. i enjoyed losing sleep over figuring out how to kill 1 boss out of 12 of a raid and it taking more than a week to kill a boss.

They've made WoW easy enough for casual players that lack any form of skill, so you'd probably enjoy it.
