thats hot.
i didn't notice the minimap at first, thought it was part of the peiste there
hoping we can reconfigure keybinds for those ability buttons, and yeah i just hope nothing on that screen is locked in place
HP and MP having 2 bars like that is gonna bug me, hope they can change it to being stacked on one another or something.
I hope you can remove the send/receive thing. I don't need to know when I'm r0'ing...not if it take a lot of place in my UI.
the resolution that you're running the game at will determine how much real estate your UI is using up
the resolution of that screenshot looks like 1280x720, which is 720p, which is eh...
edit: it's 1024x576, which is basically a downsampled image from 1280x720, they screenshotted it and reduced the image size by 1.25 on h & v
cant wait to try the alpha & beta on my 50" 1080p plasma :D
oh man... i really need to upgrade my pc... O_o
I think my current pc would roll over and die trying to run those kinda graphics ;/
Looks like a spell/ability casting progress and the text probably is just its name.
If you look at the spell/abilities menu at the bottom you'll notice that each has a small bar beneath them, except for the one apparently being used, which is likely to mean that they are recast bars, and they'll begin to refill as soon as one is done casting that particular spell.
they r bringing sexy back!!!!!!
Holy fuck. Bringing sexy back indeed. That UI is very slick. Its gonna look even better on a higher resolution. What I'm more mind-blown about is the level of detail on the mobs. They look fuckin insane.
Cant wait to build my new rig this month. :D
lol thinking of first and last names to work with lol..
would be kinda cool if people can start families by using the same last name..
or lame names like Sakka Longkok or Kismy Ess
Too much like Aion. Not every woman needs objectifying short-this and frilly-that. I got sick of Northrend gear for chicks in WoW because everything that was burly for men had short shorts for the chicks.
FFXI was similar with certain gear sets, like chain leggings for chicks being daisy dukes. Maybe the standard gear should be this way, but I feel like specific sets of advanced gear that either come from long quests or drop from bosses shouldn't be so frilly. We all loved the hot pants that rdms wore, but I couldn't see anything like that realistically dropping from a boss. What clothcrafter or armorsmith designed that gear? Was he a perv? Was she a lesbian?
The more objectifying and frilly, the better.
Yeah and people who play Taru chicks get tired of getting mistaken for male Tarus, and people freak out at the idea of them having different "body" types, so what other option is there? You can't say no taru boobs and then say they can't look different armor wise, cause then there's no way to tell a difference if there's a hat on, which we're trying to avoid happening again.
I get the taru thing, I do. I apologize, I was speaking more towards women who are already developed, but really, the taru thing is just laziness by the developer. They can design different outfits, but choose not to.
Look at male and female gnomes. Major differences in outfits, despite having the same core look. SE can do it too, I guess people will just have to lobby them enough - get a bunch of people to complain about it in alpha, haha.
Edit: Of course, if they gave characters voices, this wouldn't be nearly as big of a problem. You could easily tell just from hearing a laugh or something. Perhaps its time for SE to step into the next decade?
Then we go back to the whole Voice Acting subject which people think is a bad idea (lol?) because it would take more memory from the game. That's my main gripe about the whole PS3/360 thing is that they'll probably cut corners to not make the game too big, I hope not though.
i really hope they keep the elemental circle the same, im way too used to the ffxi one to go and learn another one, or change it up.
Well the voice could be interesting...
Either really creepy.. or just so cute you want to roll around the floor as you replay the voice over and over... >.>
Anyway about the clothes... it should be at least a little defining for the lalafell female/male when wearing a hat at least so they can be easily identified what gender they are playing and not having to ask them to take off their hat/hood etc like in ffxi.
Doesn't need to be like super revealing or massive change, just dress/pants type changes for some clothes at least.
Doesn't need to be like wow changes where TBC female clothes are thongs or norhtrend gear looking like a pile of armor (omg t10 hunter dildo strapped to the head helm ;/ )
Hell even different colors would get the point across I think.
Its a bullshit cycle that people with shitty PCs or consoles need to just get over already. Upgrade. Your. Shit., or if you are a console user: buy. a. PC.
If you have the money to throw out 15+ a month on the game, you can upgrade you rig, or purchase a decent one. Stop giving developers a free pass to skimp on the game under the umbrella of "everyone needs to be the same, so lets cater to the lowest common denominator!"
That goes to the Japanese as well, though I know they're so stubborn they wouldn't listen to anything unless a blonde-haired, blue-eyed gaijin said it in a manly voice.
Edit: Exactly, Gulk. I'm all for subtle changes in gear (like the massive tits on chain mail in FFXI for ladies), but there's no reason to have every warrior chick fighting in an iron thong. I'd love to see a game just have a CS where some skimpy chick gets her legs cut right off for lack of any armor there. Its annoying to see every FTP rpg advertisement having the same cliche'd bikini warrior with a greatsword twice her size on the cover.
The elemental wheel had NOTHING to do with Thunder being the most damaging element. The only reason Thunder was strongest is because they designed it that wayIdeally, the elemental spells should work something Elemental Ninjutsu! Where each element has the same base damage, and weakness would matter for resist rates and maybe bonus damage. D:
