I think the funniest part of this argument is that for everyone involved whenever they see a Tylenol bottle will remember this argument and have a Costanza moment

Hahaha, ok, good one buddy. I'm not going to be baited into an inane argument over the semantics of addiction vs. dependence that easily.

If a substance does not increase your transaminases at two years, it's going to be surprising as all hell if it does at ten years. As you seem to realize, the liver is probably the one organ most resilient to injury; it's built to recover through the repetitive stress of metabolizing low doses of substances that can kill it in large doses.

BTW, addiction is not defined by the dopaminergic effects of a substance, but by directly acting on the ventral tegmental areas of the brain. Yes, dictionaries are still going to include the soft-sciences definition, but it's being reigned in by biochemists to make "addiction" a useful concept. Ergo, Tylenol is not addictive, chocolate is not addictive, and Macy's is not addictive. Find me another doctor who says that addiction is a problem with Tylenol (A real doctor, not a naturopath or some such shit). There is some suggestion that Tylenol can cause rebound headaches (I'm personally skeptical as it isn't anti-inflammatory at usual doses), but it is not going to cause dependence or addiction, period. Continuing to take it because your back still hurts doesn't count.

Tylenol is dangerous in that people take a hell of a lot more of it than they realize, but it's a safe drug when following the current EBM guidelines. Even the 4g dosage that will cause elevated transaminases probably isn't going to do any clinically-significant damage over a reasonable period of time, though I don't recommend it to anyone.

To get back to my recommendation that is actually controversial: Yes, if a young woman has neurological or urinary symptoms or progressive worsening of the pain, she might get some benefit out of going to the doctor. 95% of the time without other obvious symptoms, though, it's a musculoskeletal strain and the treatment is going to be anti-inflammatories or Tylenol, rest, then stretching/strengthening exercises. If it's a bulging disc? Anti-inflammatories or Tylenol, rest, then stretching/strengthening exercises. I know this goes against your sig advice, but here's the first question out of that doctor's mouth: "Why are you coming in for this now?"

It's cute that the janitor from scrubs is giving medical advice. Hey pal here's a dollar say something else funny, but make funny faces when you do it this time.

But, since you are going to tell me that they do in fact activate the dopamine receptors in your brain by a process that goes through the amygdala (and subsequently, setting off a cascade which releases dopamine due to emotional satiation) then you are not only agreeing with everything I have said, you are also admitting what a fucking moron you are for mocking it with your retarded "lol sugar pills are addictive" statement.
It's not that there are exist no people in the world that are psychologically addicted to video games. Of course this is not true. It's that psychological addiction can occur with pretty much fucking anything, therefore branding video games with the "addictive" label is fucking retarded, because by the same logic everything is addictive.

Bumping this thread for sweet justice update. The ex-gf that broke up with me is going down in flames.

The Monday she broke up with me got with someone else. He used her for sex and broke up a week later. She is pregnant (It's not mine). Dropping out of highschool. She is now acting in desperation and wants to be "friends."

I, on the other hand have manned up. I have a job (15/hr w/medical), I have a fantastic new GF, I have lost 6 pounds over the last 3 weeks, and overall have just become a much better person.

I may just be acting like an ass, but the bitch got what was coming to her.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?
