What Constitutes a Linkshell as a "HNM Linkshell"

When I hear HNMLS, I think of camping. When I hear Endgame LS, I think of scheduled events with minimal non-popped NMs (e.g. sky or sea). It's not a difference which matters in the slightest, though, and anyone getting worked up about it should chill.

I think this is probably closest to what I think. Never really gave it much thought but I guess this one makes sense.

But really I could care less of what a shell calls themselves. As long as it's a 75-oriented event then they can call it HNM or event or endgame ls and I wouldn't care.

Any LS that is capable of killing every HNM there is (open to debate for Vrtra), whether they camp or not, can be called a HNMLS. This implies that they already killed most of them at least once.
Not wanting to waste time against botters when you can get most of the same drops from Odin doesn't remove the "HNMLS" status.

If you don't camp HNMs anymore then why would you call yourself an HNM shell? You don't see teachers walking around calling themselves strippers.

"What is a HNMLS?" - "A LS that does HNM"
"Why would I care about LS specifics/semantics?" - "Because you're stuck in 2006"

Honestly if you're not doing shit like Tiamat, Cerb, Khim and Kings then you really shouldn't be called HNM. Semantics for the most part but honestly 95% of people who've played this game long enough knows what it means when a shell is known as HNM.

If you kill mobs of world spawn nm difficulty, why does it make a difference if they're popped or camped? If anything, the distinction should be 'World Spawn HNM" and "Event HNM" since you're both doing the same shit (fighting a big mob that may or may not be a challenge anymore but is at the top of it's spawn tree) in a different area.

Anything beyond that just seems like a way to make campers feel better about wasting hours at windows, considering kings are pretty lulzy difficulty wise these days.

Because most people think that popped mobs are known as events since you can "schedule" them vs HNM that are self spawning because you can't really pick and choose when to schedule weather or not Tiamat will pop on her 1st or last window.

Yup ^, I typically think of endgame as dynamis, limbus, einherjar, sky, sea, znm, and ouryu/bv2 while HNM is wyrm, ground kings, toau kings, worm, and DI. Obviously some shells do a mix and match of both, no point in getting panties in a bunch over it other than the supreme elitists who want to put other players down because they "only" do endgame, not hnm.

Theres a difference between HNM shells and Endgame shells. My LS is an endgame shell but I wouldn't refer to us as HNM. HNM would be an LS that camps kings, wyrms, TOAU kings, and/or SW/DI. If youre not "camping" something, I'd call you an endgame shell.

If you don't stand in the same damn spot for a possible 3-5 hours staring at your screen waiting for your bot to go off (either deathspot scanner or claim bot) then you not doing HNM's. I was in a linkshell that claimed to be an HNMLS and I actually believed that they were ........ until I seen a real HNM. You real HNMLS's know what I'm talking about, everyone else quit faking it. I also agree with this view. To me "HNM" constitutes 3 kings and other normally botted mobs. "Endgame" Is people doing event and is often ran more socially or relaxed than like a business. Every time someone has asked me to describe my own LS or another I use these phrases with those directions in mind.

It's these goddamn new kids, they ain't got no respect for us old people who set down the lingo originally. Back in my day there was none of this event shit. We had sky with 6 hour kirins, our ulli's took weeks or months, and then you camped some motherfucking fafnir with 4 PLD/WARs in AF1 and a backup alliance made up of WHMs to heal them and wiped anyway.
