Xbox troubles

Dont know whats going on exactly with my xbox. it will load everything up fine and stuff and it will play modernwarfare 2 for about 3 minutes then it will just freeze i havent tried any other games yet but the first time it happened it bliped blue across the screen and then froze. never had this problem before. anyone know what the hell would cause this? much appreciated.

Sign of RRoD otherwise known as critical hardware failure. Sometimes it starts like this, freezing in game after a few minutes, it may go away, for a few days, weeks, even a month or so. But trust me, the issue will re surface and eventually the Xbox will RRoD. Might as well send in for your shipping label now to send it back in.

Start by registering your console if you haven't done so already. Don't worry about it saying out of warranty if you are. Issues dealing with the 3 red lights are covered for up to 3 years.

And always spend the time to call 1-800-MYXBOX even if the site says you will have to pay. I had no issues with my first repair, but the second was wanting $99. Started looking into selling it to Gamestop when an employee suggested that I at least call them.

Low and behold I did and they paid for the 2nd refurb as well. Planning on just buying an Elite for the sexy black console now anyway... but at least I will have a backup?

Last night my xbox started acting up. Anyone dealt with 2 red lights?

I did some searching and found it should be a thermal issue. Hopefully opening it up and blowing it out will fix it. The other thing I found was something about x-clamps coming loose from the motherboard. Any had to deal with this before?
