You (or whoever) invested time and gil into leveling a job. Random player X asks for your services which are available because you invested said time and gil. You ask for a very small fee which helps recover the time/gil invested. Seems fair to me. I'll gladly tele/retrace friends, or raise if I'm running by someone in campaign. But I'll be damned if I'm going to answer a random tell and go out of my way to purely tele someones lazy ass for free. Get the OP, buy a ring, use the NPC to get to whitegate for a few hundred gil then shout for a tele there.
Once again, this game isnt entirely dead, not every valkurm PT has a PL, and could quite possibly have been an actual noob party consisting of characters without SJ's or no chocobo liscense. A level 15 rookie probably still has Bastok/Sandy HPed and thus HPing to run back to Valkurm isnt exactly a 5 minute ordeal. And the raise tells could have been found by one of their party members.
Tell the guy if he isn't able to pay 1k, to go to the nearest conquest guard and get a scroll of instant warp. If no CP, then oh well
Anytime I ask a random person for a D2, I'll always offer 3k to them anyway. I realize their time is money, and I wouldn't expect that person to do it for free either.
If he know what D2 means then he should know what D3 means . . .
Obviously he's a fan of those Disney Mighty Duck movies. DUH.
This.
If I see a dead Nyzul PT, i'll usually just raise a mage and go about my way.
The same goes for most wiped parties, where i'll usually drop a raise then head out. For crafting (lolcooking), i'll accept a small fee for making someone I dont know an item and it usually comes down to mood on someone random sending a tell for raise.
Expecting everyone to have a PL is rediculous. We all were noobs at one point and so long as the person isnt being an obnoxious fucktard then i'll consider the request. Hey, no wonder Campaign sucks when half the people in this game cant be bothered to give their fellow player a simple raise without demanding adequate compensation lol.
Really... it's just 150MP and if you SEE a dead body in front of you... why not?
If he ran to you, I'd give him a free D2... doesn't really take that long. But if he asked me to move, hell no. Then you're taking way too much time out of what I'm doing.
I don't expect em to have a PL . Your attempt is extremely flawed though for the simple fact that there's a crystal right in the middle of Selbina in addition to a moogle allowing a player to change to whm and raise. At this point in the game finding a full pt of people whom have never ever played before and have no idea about concepts like changing your home point, outposting, or even fov RR(since all new players would run into the book as soon as they got outside and would as a result know about giving themselves re raise), and didnt learn a thing from the noob tutorial we now have in the game that gives a free reraise earring that they can use is so unlikely that you might as well go fight AV while hoping that it glitches and doesn't attack anyone.
Just how stupid are you expecting brand new players to be?
Plus the only reason a player would even be in the dunes normally is when waiting on dynamis valkurm which means it's not like you'd have anything better to do before the glass is broken if a person asked for some help.
You can also tell when a person is a noob needing help because they're rank1~3 when you make a search so it's not even like it would be impossible for you to figured out if the guy is a newbie who doesnt know any better.
On-topic or not <.<
this dude sends me a /tell saying Retrace
then he invites me...and im like um...what? and he just stares at me. sooooo
BAM d2 for him

If I get a random /tell asking for a tele while I'm in one of the starter cities, I'll do it for free (assuming my HP is either set there, or if not, I no longer need to be in the city). I've never had anyone bug me in WG or Jeuno for a tele though, so not quite sure what I'd do.
and that's awesome!![]()
Idk.. I think it's like tipping at a restaurant; it's considered rude for the person giving the d2/retrace/tele or whatever service to ask for or demand payment, but at the same time it's considered rude for the person recieving to not offer to pay. It's kind of double sided in that way. But I think that if it was something that took you out of your way or significantly interrupted what you were doing, I wouldn't consider you greedy. If the guy was standing right next to you asking for a d2 or something that would only take 2 secs of your time, you probably were. Although I'd probably just feel sorry for anyone who didn't have 1k gil and do it for free anyways, lol. XD
Either way, I always try to offer payment if I have to ask for a tele, but if at all possible I just tele myself. I never expect ls members or friends pay either.
If I ask for a teleport then I'll pay 2k. If I ask for a D2 or a retrace then I'll pay 1k, sorry but if your not going anywhere you shouldn't make the same as a teleport.
So I have one for you all, a few years back, I saw a shout in Upper Jeuno from a dark knight looking for help getting a Eld. Coffer Key. He was offering 500k for anyone who would help. So we go down there, and a thief came to help out as well. Needless to say first mob the key drops. So then he asked if he still needed to pay me. I said yes, because if we had been down here 2 minutes or 2 hours, he still said that you where going to pay me 500k for helping you out. Would you take his money, even for being down there for such a short time?
If he's asking for help, he can't farm them himself, so yes, he'd still have to pay me, and for stuff like that I always take money upfront. I never found getting the Citadel key hard itself honestly, the coffer before WoTG and the Treasure Coffer changes on the other hand...
And unless I'm on BLM(which isnt even high enough to D2 anyway), or WHM/BLM and omw back to my HP in Bastok anyway, you should still get paid for a tele/D2 if its a total stranger. If I know someone either from my social or sky or dynamis then I'll swap over and tele them for free if I see it. It's not about being greedy, it's about charging someone for a service they can't provide themselves.
I deleted the part about having a RR earring from the nub tutotial thing, but with 10 charges, it can wear out pretty quickly...
And in regards to the part I quoted:
"could quite possibly have been an actual noob party consisting of characters without SJ's or no chocobo liscense"
Last I checked you get SJ at 18, Choco License at 20...whm raise is 25.
Outpost Warps after they lowered the level needed to warp to areas is honestly the best way to get around normal conquest areas. It only sucks if your nation never gets certain regions on your server. I know on Hades Windy hardly EVER gets the Dunes, it always bounces between Bastok and Sandy.
